"The technician, David Martinez, called me to ask if he could come earlier due to a prior appointment cancellation. I have had other Furnace technicians check out my furnace. But, David was the only technician who actually cleaned the Flame Sensor, as he had to pull out other larger components to do so. He was also the only technician to check the C02 exhaust pipe outside the house to ensure there was no blockage. Although young, he seemed well-trained, professional, and meticulous. I asked him several questions, which he answered to my satisfaction. He also gave me some tips."

"The next morning, Telvin from AATP came to bypass the leak. My wife said he was very pleasant and professional. He found that there were 2 leaks; one pinhole, the other leak was at the connection at the meter which caused the jump from a pint to a gallon per minute waste - over 1400 gallons per day. When Brian and Telvin arrived, they uncovered several problems but worked through them and completed the job, pending an inspection from the county. Next day, the inspector arrived late afternoon and approved the job. Because AATP could not return that night and rain was expected (not their problem), I went ahead and filled in the trench. Brian and Telvin did a great job, even adding another shutoff valve and pressure relief valve between the meter and the house. I highly recommend All About The Pipes and especially the Brian/Telvin crew."

"I had old leaking water valves at my washing machine in my newly bought house. They were welded onto old copper piping and i couldn't remove them myself. Called QC Plumbing and they sent Tore out the next day. He reviewed what he needed to do and gave me a price up front. He then cut out a section of drywall and cut out the copper piping and valves. He replaced them, checked for leaks and hooked up my washing machine hoses too. Good work as far as I can tell... didn't have another cost estimate to compare to, but it ended up being about what I expected it would be."

"Perfectly. We replaced our electric cooktop with a new gas cooktop, so we needed to have gas extended into the kitchen, center island. Scott and his team were on time, the job was done neatly and efficiently and the cooktop gas works perfectly. Scott is a pleasure to work with and is extremely responsive if there are any questions or issues. He also personally made sure the inspections were done and the permit was properly recorded and closed. Highly recommend!"

"Representative arrived Monday (March 13) to determine what the problem was. (I had smelled sewer gas when washing a load of clothes on Sunday). After determining a pipe was broken under my home, a repair was scheduled for Tuesday morning (March 14). The repairman arrived on time, made the repair, tested to make sure there was no leakage after repair, and the job was complete within 1 1/2 hours."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Albemarle, NC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
