"Called before heading over, did an excellent job installing our drawer pulls in our kitchen, cleaned up after themselves and charged a fair price for the work. Will be using them again for other projects."

"Yeah, my experience was great. The windows were so good and clean, that I almost banged my face against it while walking through the door. Then he gave me all the information about how to clean my windows. So, this makes it easier for me to clean the windows, so they do not get spots. It has been three months or longer and my windows are still pretty gorgeous."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"Got an appointment for an estimate and to assess how to proceed with diseased trees at rental house. Even though I had emphasized with office staff that billing and job location were different, Baca Tree employee Camille called me after our scheduled time asking where I was. She was sitting at my home. She says it is the fault of the "new girl in the office." Ok, stuff happens. She comes to the rental, we discuss job, including going "shopping" for replacement trees/shrubs. I am told I again need to go through the office to schedule this appointment. I call, set up a meet at a local nursery for 8:30 am on a Monday morning, several days after our initial appointment. 8:45 am rolls around and no Camille. I call the office and am informed that Camille has appointments all morning. I explain that I'm supposed to be one of them and I want Camille to call me. She returns call and again I'm told that the confusion is due to the "new girl in the office". She offers to meet me later. I decline because I'm not interested in wasting time for someone who is not showing at the correct time or place. Don't we all know the definition of insanity? No, I'm not going to set up yet another appointment in an attempt to actually get the job done!
I called Baca Trees and was referred to Corky. We discussed what had happened. He attempted to make things right, which I appreciated, but at this point there's really nothing that could sway me to consider using them again.

"I pay a monthly fee to CHW for insurance against equipment failure. Over a month ago CHW sent a repair technician to fix both of my garage doors, the technician made an adjustment on one door and chanced the opener on the other. A week or so ago the second door failed to open. Yes, my door opener is old, but the Warrantee says, if it can’t be fixed it will be replaced. CHW paid the tech $100 and said the rest $200 is on me. Please tell me why I should stay with CHW if I have to pay 2/3rds of the cost to replace the door opener? On a separate issue: Granted I accepted CHW’s offer of a Lowe’s card to replace my dishwasher, because I was unaware of how much dishwashers sell for, it cost me an additional 300. Again, please give me a reason for staying with CHW"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Albuquerque, NM

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
