"Darrell was very punctual from the beginning to the end of the job.  He and his crew (Junior and Dan) showed up on time started the project. My yard is fairly large and it needed about 300 linear feet of fencing.  Darrell used # 1 rated treated cedar picket fence from the reputable lumber company and it took about 650 pickets (6'x51/2")and also used treated kick board.  Darrell himself installed all the fence and he is an expert fence installer.  I want to say the pickets and workmanship was the best in my sub-division in Houston.  Darrell and his crew was very respectable, courteous and were on time every day.  They cleaned the entire yard and picked up all the debris and even swept the driveway.  Darrell is very honest in dealings and satisfactorily completed his job.   I will strongly recommend his business (Privacy fencing) to anyone.  I had three bids and Privacy fencing was very competitive in pricing and he did all the work per the initial contract. "After providing an estimate, the installer came to measure for each gate. I provided the Sherwin Williams code for the paint. I gave them a days notice so the fence posts would be installed prior to the new driveway was poured I then called and told them that the driveway was completed and they installed and painted both gates. The gates look great and make getting one of my dogs into the car much easier because I don't have to put a lease on him. It was not fun chasing this dog that loves to run down the street before coming home to get a treat."

"Would highly recommend! Called to set up an appointment to get a quote. Jesus called me to schedule and appointment for the next day, he would call or text me when he was about 30 minutes away. He came and I explained what I wanted. Which was replacing existing fence and extending it on both sides of my home. Guys came out and knocked it out it 3 1/2 days. We only had one issue with the door, it was built really big and heavy. But called Jesus and he made sure it was fixed to my liking. He stayed here while they installed the other door to make sure it was done right. Jesus was so polite and made this experience smooth and reassuring. He told me if we where to have any form of issues, not to hesitate and give him a call and he would send someone out ASAP to fix the problem. Thank you HTX fencing for an amazing job. My backyard looks so much nicer!!"

The crew that did the work (Renee Torres and crew) were great.  The salesman, Bryan,  not.

 the salesman seemed likable enough and drew up the proposal so that we could have  two sides priced separately since we didn't know how much participation the side neighbors wanted to have  and whether we would replace the back fence or not.

Near the time the job started, I called him and told him that we were not going to replace the back fence. He said that he had ordered the wood "just in case" but would not bring it to the site. Most of our discussion involved him encouraging me to start on the fence.  It had just stopped raining after several days of rain.  Bryan  try to answer my objection by pointing out the sun had been out two hours (3-5 pm!).   I had been warned by my neighbor not to let them do the fence on wet grass or they might ruin the grass.  I went outside, heard the "squish squish"  when I walked and declined to start for another couple days! Later, Renee confirmed that that was true and that he was glad I had waited.

Later, the crew chief asked if I had an updated contract and I I said that I had told Bryan that I trusted him and that he didn't need to come out and redo the contract (it was about a 20% change).

The crew did an outstanding job.   Our  neighbor has pet turtles and was concerned that they might have burrowed near the fence. One of the crewmembers actually knew a lot about turtles and located them before starting. He could also assure me that there would not be baby turtles yet because he knows the lifecycle of turtles but would watch out for the eggs. They were very careful in that part of the yard.    They also, overall, did a very meticulous job  With all boards closely abutted, no exposed nail ends (a problem I read about when reading reviews of other companies), no nails left behind anywhere and a carefully constructed gate.

I was looking forward to doing this happy review when Renee stopped by to collect the check. I asked him how much I should  deduct for the back fence.   The price was on the proposal,  but they had discounted the overall job and thrown in the gate for free so I need to know what percentage to deduct from the quoted cost of the back fence. He called Brian and Brian said I needed to pay for the back fence because he had ordered the boards. I had not asked him to order the boards or even been in a particular hurry to put the fence in and we had told them that we were considering leaving the back fence or using the neighbors.

He got quite unprofessional saying over and over  "pay whatever you want" even as I kept trying to ask him to calm down, listen and tell me what a fair percentage of the original back fence cost would be.  Renee  was there and could confirm to me that I had stayed calm (afterwards I was not so much!)   In the end, I gave Renee a check with the $500 quoted for the back fence deducted rather than trying to figure out whether it should be $50 less or so.   Renee  was going to call Brian's supervisor but I haven't heard anything from them.

So not quite a POH  but a very worthwhile contractor to use, if you can work with some other salesman, since the actual crew was excellent.   Just don't let them squish around in a swampy backyard :-)

"Mark made an appointment and came by to see what projects I needed done. We agreed on a start date and he arrived on time bringing his son as his helper.  The first day, they worked from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the fence and cleaned up everything before leaving.  They returned the next day and worked from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Mark is a perfectionist and his attention to detail is remarkable. Before he left my house, everything was cleaned up, swept, and all extra wood was cut to size for the garbage pick up. He agreed to return for other projects.
