"I have had 2 different types of service calls from Andys Statewide for installation and maintenance of my furnace. They are prompt, fair and thorough. I have had a nightmare experience with Great Dane and will never use them again. Andyâ s is the only one I will call upon, they actually repair your equipment as opposed to selling you (by miss leading you) like the aforementioned company did to me. Mario was outstanding and very knowledgeable and professional."

"We were very impressed with A & C Heating and Cooling. Their online scheduling tool was convenient, user friendly, and there was a variety of time slots available. The appointment follow up, reminders and arrival tracking map were timely and helpful. Our technician, McKinley, was amazing!!! He was very courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. He diagnosed the problem quickly, installed the needed part, and ran tests to ensure the unit was running at peak performance. He educated us about our unit by explaining how it operates, what caused the problem, and how the replacement part would remedy the problem. We are VERY satisfied with their service. We give this company and our technician our highest rating, and we would highly recommend them to anyone in need of quality heating and cooling installation or service. ."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"Ac not working and thought it was compressor so found a company that would come out on Sunday. Spoke with tech and he was knowledgable and gave me a good deal of info. The after hours charge was high at $140.00 but it is a hot Sunday so the fee is what I expected maybe a bit more but they were one of few who would come out for an emergency. Ok perhaps no ac is no emergency but still. Lol Tech diagnosed the problem and it was a bad capacitor and he added freon but just a bit. Part cost was $215.00 or so and I researched the part and it only costs $40.00 new but I have zero experience with hvac and I am paying for their expertise plus they had the part etc. it costs what it costs and if you know about these things then yea it would be much less but it is less than a whole new system. I would call them again and there seems to be a wide variety of opinions on internet about that cost but they are a big company and I am paying for their expertise just like my clients pay for mine.

"Of course the A/C quits on the afternoon of the 90+ degree day! Fan and compressor were not working, but indoor fan was, meaning either a capacitor or contractor issue in the outdoor unit. Called office 10 minutes before they were done for the day, but was able to confirm a repair appointment for first thing the next morning. Technician (Sean) was here at 8 am, and after a 2 minute discussion and check, confirmed that capacitor was the issue. Still under warranty from Bryant, so that was a plus, but I was surprised that there was a failure after only 3 years since last unit ( also a Bryant, nd installed by AC Engineers after house was built in 1997) never had a problem for the 17 years we had it until replaced with the higher efficiency unit. The interesting comment from the technician was that he would likely replace 5-6 more capacitors that day (!!!!!), not tied to any particular brand of unit, but more because all the manufacturers use the same capacitor from the same source, and "they literally don't build them like the used too". Rather illuminating - In addition to the capacitor fix, he did a full service check of the system. Excellent job, responsive and knowledgeable."

"After realizing that our dryer was not producing heat we started troubleshooting in an attempt to fix the problem ourselves. After several days of failed attempts, I sought professional help and Budget Appliance Repair was my top choice based on their inexpensive pricing and positive reviews. I was very pleased with my choice. I called and spoke with a very friendly woman named Jamie who told me what to expect as far as starting costs. We scheduled the appointment for later in the day at a time that was most convenient for me. Kieth came to service my dryer. He was punctual, professional, and very willing to answer all of my questions. He went above and beyond by giving me an excellent deal on the parts that needed replacing. The pricing was very reasonable and I was extremely thankful for his service. My dryer is working perfectly now and it took Kieth very little time to fix it.

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Armada, MI

Coils work to absorb heat into the refrigerant that flows through them, moving heat from one location to another. For air conditioning, the evaporator coil inside the air handler in your home absorbs heat. It then transfers the heat outside to the condenser coil, where it releases it. The opposite process happens for heat pumps. When the coils get dusty and dirty, it reduces how well these components work.

Skip regular cleanings, and dirt, debris, and mineral deposits will blanket your evaporator and condenser coils. When that happens, the coils can’t shed heat efficiently, so the system works harder and your energy bill climbs. Over time, overheating strains the compressor and can trigger a full breakdown—an avoidable repair that often costs far more than a simple annual cleaning.

AC coil cleaning is an investment that pays for itself in the benefits it provides. Dust‑caked coils force your AC to run longer, so you spend more on electricity and rack up extra wear. A quick professional cleaning restores efficiency, trims monthly bills, and eases strain on expensive parts. Over the long haul, that small yearly fee delays pricy repairs and stretches the unit’s lifespan, making coil cleaning one of the smartest HVAC tune‑ups you can schedule.

Watch for higher electric bills, rooms that stay warm no matter how low you set the thermostat, or an AC system that runs nonstop. Extra humidity and frost on the coils are also red flags. Catching these clues early lets you schedule a quick cleaning before the system overworks itself and triggers an expensive breakdown.

Your AC cleaning technician starts by shutting off the power to the unit and removing the faceplate. Compressed air and a vacuum hose blast away loose debris, followed by a coil-safe, no-rinse cleaner that dissolves stubborn grime. After the solution has soaked in, the professional wipes the fins, reassembles the housing, and restores power, leaving the system ready to cool at peak efficiency.
