"This review is more than a year overdue, but I was very happy and satisfied with the job done by Brick Restoration Inc. I had a plumbing leak (frozen pipe break) in the wall behind the kitchen sink, and the repair could only be made from the outside wall of the house. BRI quoted me a very fair price for brick removal and restoration. When it came time restore the hole in the brick, BRI came back out and filled in the hole with all new bricks. Since it is nearly impossible to find the same kind of bricks, their brick layer was very skilled at painting the bricks to match the existing bricks. I was very happy with the work that was done. I will call BRI again if I ever need brick more brick work done."

"Had my 11 YO full stucco house with several cracks and few more serious stucco issues. Efrain came to evaluate and we agreed on the extent of the job which included repair of several walls applying a mesh with base coat, texture, primer paint and finally have the full house repainted. This included soffit, gutters and down spouts. Efrain even provided cleaning all the windows and power wash the driveway. I have to admit it was a nice surprise. The house looks now even better than when we first built it 11 years ago. Efrain does follow up on his promise and the quality of the job is unmatched."

"The two masons completed all the cracks and secured the two walls, even adding a little mortar in a few places not on the estimate. The work is professional..... You would never know there had been any cracks. Mortar matches perfectly. Reasonable rates. A house is a expensive asset, every one can immediately see a DIY repair (never matches) - Call the professional masons, you'll be glad you did."

"Begin having problems with mold in the shower in 2018 and had shower cleaned and recaulked. Over the next year the mold problem came back. We then determined that water was getting into the seat base and being retained. After pricing just redoing the shower or doing the shower and floor of the master bathroom we decided to do both. Reviewing multiple contractors we selected THE PERALTAS Remodeling & Services INC to perform the services. They came in and removed the tile during which we found out there was standing water in the base of the seat. It was coming down behind the seat top and being held in the base. It was very poorly installed in 2015 by the home builder (Darling). We had some communication problems initially getting Sammy (manager) to focus on what WE were concerned with. After resolving those communication issues everything happened as we requested. One of the employees was sent over with a 1/2 inch chisel to get the mortar up spending a day instead of being provided a 3 or 4 inch scaling chisel which would have made it a 2 hour job. We asked Manuel (tile installer) to install the floor with a herring bone pattern - no problem even the tiny corners that needed to change direction were correct. Tile acquisition should have been one package greater, Manuel had to work hard to get all the pieces he needed (yes we acquired another 7 tiles for spares later). The tiles are rectangular and in the shower they change direction about half way up the wall again no problem everything matched beautifully. To ensure that the water problem was resolved there is a separate membrane over the shower bench under the granite top and the wall tiles are on the top not behind the granite top making it harder for water to get in the bench base. It took the glass shower wall installer four tries to resolve the glass door very slowly slipping out, the fourth try with some help they determined they had missed a spacer and in the six months since there has been no slippage. Manuel did an excellent job installing the tile!!! Very happy with the resulting master bath!"

"We had the arm of an electronic gate replaced as well as having our wrought iron fencing painted. They did an outstanding job and performed all of the services the day after providing an estimate. Had a team of 4 or 5 that were courteous and left the place spotless. Could not have been happier with the work they did."

"To be honest, I was severely disappointed with the service Allied provided me. While the end product (stamped concrete slab) met my expectations, I had multiple issues with the project both before and during construction. I went with this company because they had stellar reviews, and seemed to take special pride in their customer service scores. I was willing to pay a bit more to work with a company that would ensure I was happy with the results. But my experience was that they may claim to be focused on customer satisfaction, they did not follow-through. In brief, the multiple problems I experienced were: Communication: Once I signed the contract and put down the down payment, it was many weeks before I heard back from my Project Manager on when my install date would be calendared. Granted, some of the delays were likely caused by the crazy amount of rain we received in Oct/Nov, but I never received a call/text explaining any of this. It was only when I proactively reached out that I got the updates I needed. Leaving equipment behind: On multiple instances, the construction crew left a utility 4-wheeler in my driveway overnight. Aside from partially blocking access to my garage, I feel that it also left me open to liability had it been stolen (it was clearly visible from the street). Fence damage: Apparently, in order to get the aforementioned 4-wheeler closer to the job area, the crew cut through my new 8' privacy wooden fence and removed/replaced this section as needed. Taking this action was NOT discussed with me ahead of time. While the fence section was put back, cutting through the horizontal supports as they did has weakened that entire area. In addition, the action of running the 4-wheeler through that area of lawn left significant grooves in the soil/grass - to the point where I now have to put bricks in the gap under the pickets so my dog does not see this as an escape route. Showing up in the evening with no warning: On at least one occasion, a crew member came back by in the early evening, at least a couple hours after everyone had gone home. Not sure what they were there to do, but the gentleman in question did not call or knock on the door - just walked through my back gate. Firstly, this is a dangerous thing for anyone to do, my live-in girlfriend stated to me that had she been alone at the time she would have been dialing 911 to report an intruder. The worst part of this is that there is a clear sign on both sides of the back gate stating that it MUST remain closed at all times. This is to prevent my dogs from getting out. Had I not noticed this person working in the area before my dogs did, they would have escaped out into the neighborhood to maybe be lost forever or hit by a vehicle. Cleanliness: Multiple days worth of empty soda bottles were left lying around. I even found one several weeks later tucked away in some equipment I had put aside. There were also two significant piles of concrete dust/stone/aggregate left in the grass to the side of the poured pad. I explained these things in my review of the job with my Project Manager, and that PMs boss. With both people, I do not feel like they were taking my significant concerns seriously. The damage to my fence was not repaired or paid for, and their excuse for their staff coming in after hours and leaving the gate open was basically "well, you cannot train good staff when paying construction prices for labor". This was especially infuriating since it involved the safety of my dogs. Maybe I am an outlier in all this, and Allied does a superior job most of the time. All I can say is that I feel like I not treated as expected, and would be VERY hesitant to hire them again for additional project work I have planned over the next few years."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Baytown, TX

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
