"The work was done efficiently and thoroughly (better than I managed to do myself). I have a wooded 1.75 acre lot. Approximately 1 acre requires leaf removal. A job that would take me all weekend was completed in 3.5 hrs. The cost is extremely reasonable. A very good value."

"Yard Grading for proper water runoff. Removal of existing gravel driveway, brick walkway, shed foundation, and retaining wall."

"Excellent. We have been customers for more than 10 years and I have no hesitation in recommending The Pond Doctor. Mark and his team really care about their work and customer satisfaction. Mark is very responsive - he answers queries within hours, and brings a calm demeanor to every discussion about the pond, the aquatic plants or the fish. He explores potential root causes of an issue, presents solution options with cost implications and offers a reasoned recommendation. He never goes to the most expensive solution first, but he does give an honest, professional opinion of what he thinks will work best. He also checks back to see how things worked out. I have never been disappointed. His team is knowledgeable, always willing to educate about pond and fish care. We have been very pleased with this service!"

"Backyard Ponds is magic. I have a small backyard pond, stream and waterfall that have been
leaking for years. Various workmen had poured concrete into it, slathered mortar
between stones and sprayed special waterfall foam all over the sides of it. My
pond, stream and waterfall continued to leak. Hilary of Backyard Ponds looked at it for a while, moved one
stone and fixed the leak. How did you do that! I yelled. Well after you work on
enough of these things you get an eye for what the problem could be. Then she
vacuumed all the mud that had been clogging the pum , reattached the waterline
and pump that I could never get to stay together, restacked the rocks along the
edge of the stream so they actually sat on top of each other instead of sliding
down at all angles, and added a few strategically placed rocks to hide the pump
and waterline and cover the rubber sides of the stream. She added a regulator to
the water line so I could make the water run fast and slow. And more. I have had
a pond and stream for fifteen years, and many people have worked on it, from
expensive professioanl landscapers to guys I would swear the contractor picked
up off the street corner. The difference in using someone who specializes in
ponds is stunning. Backyard ponds is
magic.

"If you need to replace your underground oil tank, then you're freaking out about the expense and possible catastrophic complications.   So do yourself a favor and call Willard.    This wonderful family company makes everything easy.

Our very positive experience started with the initial visit by Josh.    Then company owner Billy Willard answered all our many questions.   Considering the options, we decided to purchase a Roth tank.    Not just more compact than other brands, it also has a 30-year warranty.   Willard is the only company in Virginia certified to install Roths.

Our work was scheduled quickly.    Willard called Miss Utility and also our county -- we didn't have to do a thing.   The Roth tank fit neatly into our garage and Billy and his crew took great care with every detail of its complicated installation.    The removal of our underground tank went really well too, even though the tank turned out to be quite deep.    Frank and Josh worked very carefully to expose but not damage the old tank, and to transfer oil into the new tank.    Then the old tank was prepared so the residual oil could be pumped for recycling.    We hadn't even realized this step would take place, because Willard had made all the arrangements.   Next the tank was lifted and soil samples were taken.      Then, using a truckload of fill Willard supplied as well as the excavated soil, the enormous hole was filled, carefully graded and sown with grass seed.

You can imagine how many heavy vehicles were in motion to accomplish all this, yet there was not the slightest damage to our fence, landscaping, driveway or house.

Meanwhile, Tim was connecting the new Roth tank to our furnace, working with ingenuity around the maze of ducting. pipes and wires in our basement.   He wasn't satisfied until he was sure the connection was perfect.

We thought the entire crew was awesome, and that opinion was validated when the county fire inspector approved everything they'd done.   The Willards and Josh Delaney were not just expert, they were really friendly and considerate.    It was a pleasure to have them around,  They turned what had been a huge nightmare into a perfectly executed solution.

"Jesse and Tillerman Gardens are top notch! We have worked with them for years. With our first home they widened our driveway, added a retaining wall, leveled our backyard and made a beautiful stone wall around our garden. Our house sold in 2 days and all the feedback was about our “beautiful curb appeal”. I was most sad to leave these features of our home, I literally did not want to move and leave my stone wall! It was a deal with my husband to call Jesse immediately and get a new stone wall around my garden. In our new home Tillerman gardens has created a new curved stone pathway, MY stone wall around the garden, leveled the backyard, created a patio around our shed, added a split rail fence, not to mention the landscaping! Jesse helped us choose the best perennial plants to give our new home that lovely curb appeal. The neighbors literally stop us daily to tell us how much they love it. My recommendation for Jesse and Tillerman Garden could not be any higher! It has not only been a pleasure working with him, but we feel like he is apart of our family and the reason we love our new home SO very much!"

"RDM Landscaping expertly removed a huge, nature, dead chestnut oak without harming the fence and terrace next to it. They also did excellent pruning is a sugar maple that was planted too close to the house. The tree is healthier and better-shaped due to the expert work. The crew went above-and-beyond our expectations with the yard clean-up following the tree work."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Hughes Landscaping to transform my outdoor space, build a shed, sod my whole yard, and resolve drainage issues, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, my experience has been nothing short of outstanding. The initial consultation with their team was impressive. They took the time to listen to my ideas and vision for my backyard and offered their expertise and creative input. It was clear right from the start that they were passionate about their work and dedicated to delivering exceptional results. One of the things that stood out to me was their attention to detail. They meticulously planned every aspect of my projects, from my first interaction with John and Carter to their management throughout the half-dozen projects I've engaged with them on. Their solutions were not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and sustainable. The actual installation of all my projects was smooth, efficient, and exceptionally performed. The crew was punctual, professional, and clearly skilled in their craft. They worked tirelessly to bring the designs to life, and the results were breathtaking. The hardscaping, including the patio, shed, and drainage issues, was flawlessly executed, and the landscaping afterward was carefully planned and implemented to create a vibrant and harmonious outdoor oasis. The communication with John and Carter Hughes was excellent throughout my projects. They kept me informed every step of the way, and any questions or concerns I had were addressed promptly. This level of transparency and professionalism was greatly appreciated and added to the overall positive experience. Now that many projects are completed, I couldn't be happier with the outcome. My front and backyard have been transformed into a beautiful and inviting space I can't wait to spend time in. It's not just landscaping; it's a work of art! I highly recommend Hughes Landscaping to anyone looking to enhance their outdoor space, patios, and complex construction projects. Their expertise, attention to detail, and dedication to customer satisfaction set them apart from other contractors. If you want a company that will exceed your expectations and create a space you'll love for years to come, look no further than Hughes Landscaping. Thank you for turning my landscaping and construction dreams into a reality!"
