"In Nov. 215 I had Mr. Foster, Sr. over to repair a leak in our kitchen sink due to a cracked fitting around the sink basket. He corrected the piping from the garbage disposal that I had replaced recently, but this put torque on the sink basket so that it didn't quite line up with the drain hole. the repair held for a while, but eventually the putty was displaced and it started leaking again. Mr. Foster warned me that this would be the case, and that I really needed the whole under-sink area re-plumbed (this was because the new disposal was slightly larger than the one that it replaced.) I told him we'd do so when it started leaking again. Mr. Foster mentioned this would run us about $400. Flash forward to about March 2016, and the sink started leaking again around the basket. I called in early June and requested service. We had been dealing with the leak for a few months by using a dishpan and only dumping water down the other basin. (because we were unable to take off work to be home for the service call) They were really swamped with HVAC service, but we were able to have the work scheduled for mid June. Mr. Foster Jr. completed the work in a few hours and tested everything to make sure everything was water tight. They made some recommendations about increasing the temperature on our hot water heater to reduce buildup in the pipes. The job was much less than what Mr. Foster, Sr. had mentioned, so we were pleasantly surprised. The Fosters were very polite and professional and cleaned everything up afterwards. Would love to have them in for another job in the future. They work out of Nottingham/Perry Hall, so it's gratifying to support local business."

"Jim did a great job. He quickly assessed the problem and then took our unit with him to work on it more. When he got back to us, the fix would have cost more than it was worth. He gave us options for a new or refurbished PC. We felt the refurbished was a good deal and chose that. He came back and set that up and we are very happy with it. He then took a look at my laptop and again took it along. He tuned it up and installed a speed upgrade we wanted. Of course, we paid extra for the new unit and upgrades, but we thought the price was very fair. Jim seemed very knowledgeable and responsive. We will definitely call him again if we need any computer services."

"Don (the owner of Aqua) was in the area at the time I called and was able to stop by within 60-90 minutes of my call. He checked operation of the boiler, and diagnosed the problem with the help of the boiler manufacturer tech support. I needed a new ignition control module; the problem was that the boiler flame would not stay lit. He tried to get the old one working again, and seemed to succeed, but I called him back the next morning to report it started acting up again. He ordered the part and returned after it arrived in a few days to install it. The part appeared to resolve the issue and I was good to go. The boiler is over 25 years old and my previous HVAC contractor had said it needed to be replaced. Don looked at me like I was nuts when I told him that. He genuinely believed in repairing rather than replacing if at all possible, and I could not agree more."

Tim, the technician, was diligent in trying to get us running until a solution could be found. Unfortunately, our unit is just too old. Solid service and response time. If ownership chooses to replace the unit, they will be our guys without a doubt. The owner, Bryan, was very upfront on cost and potential solutions as we have a very, very old building. "On Friday, as I was quietly eating supper, and NOT turning anything different electrical on, my overhead lights in the dining room and kitchen suddenly went dark. I found a) the breaker was tripped for the #6 circuit and b) even when I turned off everything on the #6, the breaker continued to trip. That meant there was a short somewhere in the line independent of what was plugged into it or turned on in it. I called another electrical company, and the operator informed me somewhat huffily that they were closed. I asked to speak to an electrician because I wanted to confirm that the house was safe, and all I got was "We're closed." I came back to Angie's List and the second name listed was Saffer Plumbing, which had done a good job with pluming for us earlier, so I called them and clicked on their emergency service. The nice man said that their office was closed, but he would have their electrician call me back. Which Jerry did. We established that as long as the breaker was off, there was no current to the short, so it was safe. I had other circuits to light the house, and all essential service was on the good circuits. Jerry came out on Saturday, did a quick check, and I made a new appointment for Thursday. Jerry estimated it would take 3-4 hours to find the short. He and his son found it in an hour and a half. It was in an exterior wall where the BX cable probably had rusted out. He was wonderful. His company goes by Trustworthy Electricians, but is going to be under Saffer Plumbing, The cost was very reasonable."

He was able to clean the system, replace the burnt out capacitor (2nd burnout in 2 years) and give solid recommendations for repair vs replacement costs and long term gains. I will continue to use this company for routine maintenance and installation of a better quality unit in the future."

"As it turned out to be an A/C problem Rob didn't perform the service otherwise I'd have hired him for the repair on the spot.  He explained our issue and assured me that there wouldn't be any worse water in our basement while we were away which relieved my concern.  Rob also answered questions I had about our hot water heater.  He was nice and knowledgeable.  We'll definitely call him with our next plumbing project or problem.

"Great service. My former Jiffy repairman, Pete, is no longer doing gas log repair. He assured me the new guy would do just as good a job. He was right. Shaun was wonderful. He cleaned the logs thoroughly, explaining everything he was doing, and gave me good tips on maintenance. He also replaced the non-working remote!! I'd given up hope of that, since our log set is almost 20 years old. We had been lighting the logs manually, which was a pain. Not only that, Shaun noticed that the Piezo igniter was broken, and said he would order the part and come back to reinstall once it arrived. He's a super nice guy too, and keeps a clean workspace and always wears shoe covers, which I really appreciate. I couldn't be happier with Shaun. I'd also like to give a shout out to the scheduler, Stefan, who always let me know in a timely fashion when Shawn was coming, and is very responsive to schedule changes. Many thanks to both guys."
