During the check up, he identified one problem that required him to go get a part. He explained the problem to me and showed me the where it was. "Mr. Rakim Shahid, owner of "Your Community Heating and Cooling" is a professional. He was always extremely responsive in answering questions and providing quotes for option A, B or C systems. He showed up exactly when he said he would for contract preparation/signing and system installation. He did exactly what he said he would do and when he would do it. He and his team replaced a 19 yr old Rheem HVAC with a new Rheem heat pump and air handler. The entire process was very smooth, no surprises and craftsmanship of the installation is evident. "Outstanding. We had been stood up by two other AC business and I was very so I looked at Angie's List and found Automatic Climate Heating & Air Conditioning. I called and phone was immedtately by the service tech. I told him my problem and he asked how soon would I need a technician to which I replied as soon as possible. He then said he could have someone to us between 11:00 AM and 1:00PM which I said that would be perfect. Told me he would have the tech call when he was on the way. Received a phone call from Matt, the technician about noon to say he would arrive in 20-30 minutes. Matt pulled up at 12:25 PM and after introductions he asked where he could start Showed him to our attic where the upstairs unit was located. Matt came downstairs about 45-50 minutes with one big question which was..."When was the last time we had the units serviced, Our reply was 2002 to which answered many questions." He show us pictures he had taken of some problems (one or two major one and a few minor ones. My wife asked about a service agreement and the cost. Matt explained the types that they offered and that if we took an agreement today, we could exercise the Spring Service so we said we would do it. after a total of 51/2 hours we had air conditioning up and downstairs. My wife and I were very pleased with MATT, He is very knowledgeable concerning his work even on old units that were probably over 38 years old. We were so impressed we asked if we could ask for him if when we needed our fall servicing. He said many of his customers did the same also. We are very impressed with Automatic Climate Heating & Air Conditioning. A very outstanding organization that believes in customer satisfaction and having employees that put their customers first. "I sincerely did not have a problem with the professional service per se, the technician was professional prompt on time, and knew what he was doing. On Dec 9, 2020, it took him about 30 minutes to figure out the problem and found the unit is still under warranty. He ordered the part and told me once the part is received, I will be contacted to schedule replacement. I called the office they did not call me. They were quick in responding and replaced the part on Dec 19. Cost is my main issue. They wanted $119.95 for diagnosis fees which WILL NOT be considered a part of the final repair fees. I believe it’s not a good business not to tell the client beforehand how much you will charge as service fees, they did not. Only after they diagnosed it. After a discussion with the technician, he talked to the office and the service fee was forfeited. The part replacement cost was $403! It took less than 30 minutes, 25 to be exact, to replace. Not sure how the rate of this charge is justified. I was told about the $403 charge right after the first visit but did not have a choice at that point. With all due respect, I understand, as explained to me, they have more overhead budget more than mom and pop shops. I still believe this total repair should not have been more than $250 at the most."

"The primary problem I needed to have addressed was my laptop, which would only boot to a yellow blank screen and I was looking for a local service in Huntsville so I could drop it off if necessary.  Another major consideration was that North Alabama Technical Services was available on Sunday, which was when the service was needed.  Jim suggested some steps to clear the problem, and I was able to get the laptop to boot properly.  There were operating problems with both the laptop and my desktop computers and I was sent software to allow remote access.  Jim, at North Alabama Technical Services, was extremely professional and capable in correcting the problems remotely.  The scan of the desktop took almost 4 1/2 hours to complete, and identified some 77 infected files.  Before the scans were initiated, a number of programs were identified that had unknown sources, and were deleted.  When we began the process, I was on the phone to initiate the remote access and was impressed with the professionalism and competence as Jim talked me through the processes on both computers, and showed me what he was doing.  We disconnected during the long duration scan, but I was able to monitor the progress on my monitors and Jim called me back at the end of the scan to go over the wrap up processes.  He showed me that my 2 MB of RAM could be upgraded to 4MB and found the appropriate memory on Amazon for under $20, and loaded 3 recommended scanning programs on my computers with 30 day free trials and provided costs of the programs, if I were to purchase.
I will definitely use this service again, if required, and would recommend North Alabama Technical Services for anyone needing computer services.

"I needed help quickly! I ordered an AC unit for my mother and it arrived a day early (plus I was out of town when it arrived)! Thank Heaven for Tan the Handyman! Not only was he easy to be reached but he installed the AC unit (plus made a necessary run to an electrical supply facility for additional parts) all in the same day! "The A/C at our rental property was running, but not keeping the house cool. I called five different A/C companies that had A ratings on Angie's list and asked how much they charged for the service fee and how much they charged per pound for R22. Three of the companies including K&J) told me their rates directly and two told me that they "bundle" the R22 cost with labor costs. I appreciated that K&J were up front with their costs and they had the best rates. The technicians showed up on time and were very professional. They immediately checked the unit outside and the air handler inside. Both were frozen up with ice. They turned off the unit and we waited for it to thaw out. While waiting the tech's (Cory and Mark) were very jovial and pleasant to talk to. Once the unit thawed out they hooked up the gages and diagnosed the problem as low refrigerant. They showed me on the gage were the correct level should be and where my unit was. They kept me informed the whole time and were very thorough. They ended up having to clean the coil in order to get the unit to take in the refrigerant. They told me the cost before they did it and asked me if I wanted them to proceed. Once the cioils were clean they added 1lb of R22 (in .5 lb increments). Then they went inside and checked the vent with a laser thermometer to make sure the temp was in the proper range. I was able to pay credit right there on the spot and they gave me a discount for using Angie's list. I would highly recommend K&J Mechanical. They did excellent work on time and at a great price. There was even a follow up call to see if I was satisfied with the service.
