"Mike from 3rd Rock Plumbing replaced the garbage disposal unit. He did an excellent job and I am very pleased with his work. Especially nice was that he cleaned up everything when finished and left no mess behind (so rare these days!). I would highly recommend 3rd Rock Plumbing."

"We had an unusual cold snap and we have an high efficient furnace/ heat system.  It puts out moisture when it's running as kind of an exhaust deal and those pipes froze. The water draining to the outside froze solid and the system will not run if the pipe freezes. It is a safety kind of thing when it senses that. He diagnosed it and would have fixed it for us but he clearly told us what it was. So I said let's save some money and do it ourselves. It took him a while to find it and he got up in the attic too. They are efficient in what they do. They didn't waste time while they was here. Friendly and good folks to talk to. Explained what he was doing while he was doing it instead of keeping everything mysteriously shrouded. I would give them an A+ for overall and responsiveness if it was in here."

"All three units were checked for operations while tech was on site. I had noted that one unit seemed to perform inconsistently. Tech found it low on chemical and added it as required. An expansion valve was projected to be replaced but tech found it unnecessary to replace it thus saving me around $456. This honesty and thorough check of my units was one of the reasons I contract with this company for my heating and cooling needs. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Boone, NC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
