We hired John Wood of JAW Construction to transform a building shell originally intended to be a shop for building trusses into a small house (officially an auxiliary dwelling unit or ADU) and are thrilled we found him. The job required skills that extended beyond new construction to include the insight, skill and craftsmanship of a highly experienced remodeling expert. He possessed these in spades. Beyond his own expertise, he has assembled a set of sub-contractors that are excellent craftsmen in their own areas of expertise. The job was doubly challenging given that for much of the construction period we were out of state getting our old home ready for sale. This also meant that an extra element of trust was involved. John sent us pictures of the progress, so that we could monitor from a distance. In addition, he was able to identify and rectify several flaws in our design. As with any large construction/remodeling project, there were some unexpected expenses that came up, but John worked with us to help limit cost overruns, sometimes foregoing profits. He was also always up front about the costs of the various components. Our new home is gorgeous and reflects his sharp eye for detail. We couldn’t be happier. In short, if you want a highly skilled, trustworthy, hardworking contractor for your large (or small) job, we highly recommend John Wood of JAW Construction."

Cheerful, friendly, efficient. Maybe the best thing is integrity. You can just tell. 😊 Did a great job on patio furniture assembly, made sure it was it was comfortable for me and that I was satisfied with the result. And the amount charged was so reasonable. Grateful to have found Elite Enclosures. Can't wait to call Adam again - have several projects around my property and am relieved that I have a reputable company to contact. Not to mention the extra customer service: my people-loving, nosy terrier was being a drama queen...he wanted to be out there - and the guys said no problem. "PDX Custom Woodwork ruined our house and wasted our time and money. We spent $62k for them to spend 6 months demoing and painting. We didn't hear from Lina for at least 3 months of this, only the occasional text from Manuel. Even at their best, they rarely communicated with us and it was like pulling teeth to find out what amounts of materials WE had to order, including our own carpet/padding and tile cement, which is not standard. They also never visited the site or had a project manager overseeing the work being done. We had to beg them to come to the property and that still only produced a monthly visit, at best. Their workers came mainly on weekends so it's clear they were prioritizing many newer projects over ours. Ultimately, they barely completed $20k in work- of which, none of those projects were totally finished- and have done about THREE TIMES that amount in DAMAGES to our property, bringing the total to around $100-120k. They gave us half our kitchen cabinet doors three months ago then kept telling us the rest were on the way. Though all of the built-ins we hired them to redo were demolished, they never fabricated the new ones. We paid for all our flooring materials ourselves, which is not an industry standard, and they had the audacity to ruin them FOUR times. We shouldn't have given them the benefit of the doubt when they said they'd fix it. The patterned carpet was cut at an angle on every single piece and they ripped up carpet in places they shouldnt have, leaving us to buy and replace even more of it. Their "painters" got paint on multiple stained wood doors (including the front door and sidelights) that we were keeping, as well as every kitchen appliance including inside our garbage disposal, and in ALL of our brand new outlets and on the light switches. They also ripped a knob off of our oven range, dented all the doors on our new fridge, covered our kitchen chandelier and living room ceiling fan with paint and damaged our brand new fireplace that they were supposed to wrap in stone for us. They washed their brushes in our bathroom sink and left paint in rooms not being renovated. They made changes to another contractor’s city-permitted work between inspections, and without telling us even when we were on site. We had to correct them on measurements multiple times because they couldn't do it accurately themselves. This was maybe 1/4th of the work we wanted to bid from them. We wanted to be repeat customers, do bigger renovations, and go the long haul, but Lina and Manuel made it impossible. Our home has been unusable for half a year with nothing to show for it. Most of the work, including the over-sprayed paint job, will need to be redone, because it's spotty, has rough texture and the ceiling got the wall/cabinet paint on it in multiple areas. They didn't even seal our tile or countertops, which were the only things we thought they had completed, but didn't. Instead, we have to now file a complaint and hire new contractors, that know what they are doing this time, to finish the job."
