"From the start, it went great! <br /> My sister and I were trying to prepare our mother's home  (built in the late 60's) for sale. Our biggest concerns were the popcorn ceilings (with asbestos), the old wallpaper and half-wall wood siding in a very large family room, and the dormers at the exterior roof- height that were in serious need of repair and paint. <br /> About a week prior, we contacted apx. seven contractors through various sources. Of the seven, three responded and two showed up to give an estimate.  <br /> San Diego Abatement Services was the first to respond within an hour or so of my first request through Angie's list. An appointment was made to meet with Shawn at a time mutually convenient. In the meantime, we met with the other company which only did the removal of the asbestos popcorn ceilings but none of the repair or painting, which would have to have been done by an outside contractor. His bid was $3700. We were concerned because we were having trouble getting responses from contractors we had called and were getting anxious about this whole process and the amount of time it might take. <br /> When Shawn from San Diego Abatement Services arrived, he alleviated all our stress!! Not only do they do the removal and repair and painting of the ceilings, (for our sq. footage, apx. $2700), but other things we needed to do as well. They were available within the week to do the job and by the following week we were done! <br /> While some items seemed a bit high in price (lights), others were low and, in all, we think it all got done at a reasonable price. Being able to have so much taken care of by the same company--and done well--is a difficult commodity to put a price-tag on. <br /> There were a few times when I questioned how something was being done or was not getting done and with a quick phone call, to Hope, their great and responsive person back at the office, we were put in touch with Shawn or one of the other supervisors who made sure we were happy with the results or we came to an agreement on how to resolve the issue. <br /> The house just went on the market and the feedback from buyers and brokers is that the house looks great - and it does! <br /> My sister and I absolutely recommend San Diego Abatement Services without reservation! <br />"

"May 16, 2015 <br /> We had a store flooded during a severe storm.  We called the recommended flood remediation company (Christian Brothers Cleaning & Restoration).  They responded in a timely fashion and did a good job of removing water from the store floor, setting up dehumidifiers, and spraying mold killer on the walls. That was the good.   <br /> The bad is that when I questioned the $3,000 cost for a few hours work, the estimator told me he wasn't charging for his time.  He tried to make it out that not being charged for his time was saving me money.  I just don't think estimators in general charge for their time when they do no work.  In addition, he tried to get me to poke holes in the wall and measure for moisture, and was pushing additional work;  I'm an engineer and I pretty accurately measured the removed water to be no where near the water they claimed to have removed.  I  do not trust this company and I will not use them again.  However, they did a good job doing what they did, and one has to pay premium dollar when there's urgent flood remediation to do.  Let the buyer beware. <br /> <br /> Dec 16, 2015 <br /> The above review was written by me and posted to Angie's List in May of 2015.  For some reason, Angie's list re-posted the review on Nov 23, 2015.  One of the Christian Brother's owners called me on Dec 16, 2015 and wanted to discuss why I was dissatisfied and what they might do better next time.  He explained to me that during storms he will sometimes get a hundred calls a day asking for free estimates and that they therefore will charge for estimates and incorporate that cost into the job if work is performed.  Therefore, my original assumption of free estimates was mistaken.  This greatly changes my review because this company did good work and I was mainly dissatisfied with the salesperson.  Thus, I have raised the "Overall" rating to B from D, and the "Professionalism" to C from F.  I will call this company again if I need flood restoration work performed."

"Reuban - the owner - responded immediately. Found the source of the water damage and removed the surrounding drywall and cabinets. A containment area was set up and dryers installed. Reuban followed up each day until the area was dry. I have used Teibans services several times over the last 10 years. Always punctual and gave excellent service. I recommend REUBAN WITH RAINBOW."

"Excellent job done. Workers were professional and kept me informed, they coordinated project with my tenant's work schedule to allow them access as needed. Workers were the same throughout the job and Alec was great to work with. When more damage was discovered after removing the decking, Alec explained the problem and gave me options to proceed and select from. Each afternoon they cleaned-up before going home."
