"Paul, was very accommodating of my schedule. He is particularly knowledgeable, in his field and demonstrated professionalism while at my home. During the service call he also, looked at another appliance in need of repair. He returned 2 days later to install, his pricing is extremely reasonable and he lets you know up front of all the losts. There were no surprises."

"Given the complexity of the project, it went as smoothly as something like this can go. Hagit developed a very functional and attractive design based around an island that would seat 3, along with a variety of cabinetry. She was very patient when we wanted a number of adjustments. She accompanied us to pick out counters and backsplash, and always seemed to have good ideas for selections according to our tastes. Brian mapped out the engineering, which included moving a support beam, together with an engineering firm. He also mapped out a three-month schedule with the various subcontractors the firm uses, like the plumber, electrician, plasterer, counter people, floor people, etc. They all had lots of experience with this kind of work, and in working with KCF. Brian worked hard to ensure that new wood flooring would match well with existing flooring just outside the new kitchen. The KCF team also took a lot of care to set things up in our condo to create barriers to minimize dust and dirt, and try to ease our inconvenience; they even loaned us a microwave to use in our temporary kitchen in the basement. For the most part, subs showed up as scheduled, and did good work. KCF also coordinated all the town inspections. There were only a few glitches--the biggest one was when the tiles for the backsplash arrived broken, and it took some weeks to get replacements. The tile outfit wasn't very responsive, and seemed not to care much. But KCF kept on with all the other work, and the tiles were finally put in pretty much near the end. We have used the kitchen for a couple months now and love it. The design and craftsmanship all worked well. Going through a kitchen re-do is never a pleasant experience, but KCF made it as painless as possible."

"I could go on and on about the quality of their work. The guys were great. They were professional and very thoughtful especially because there was so much work to be done and we live in a small House. They cleaned up every day after the work day was done. Everyone who visits is amazed at the kitchen. Before United came in, my apartment was the typical 3 family. One long hallway, rooms off the dark hallway, small choppy rooms, dark uninspiring. Now I have an open concept, very NYC style loft. Open, bright, airy and modern. It allows us to spend time with each other as a family in an open floor concept. I love the vision United had and they implemented it flawlessly! I will hire them again in a heartbeat! Thank You for excellent work and delivered ON TIME! Description of work: United did such an amazing job with my complete bathroom gut/renovation and my living/kitchen/dining room renovation; I happily hired them again to do my complete kitchen gut/remodel. My apt in Brookline was in need of a huge kitchen update. It was so scary I would not know where to start in explaining it...it was indescribable. In the end I have a UNIQUE, highly functional kitchen. A few of the major issues were...I had no permanent washer dryer hook up. They plumbed it and set the electrical. My space was limited for storage before. United built custom cabinets that increased my storage space 100% yet the storage is low profile and does not crowd the space. I wanted unique industrial counters so they opted for poured concrete. LOVE THEM! They go perfectly with my stainless steel appliances. They moved the gas stove which required moving the gas lines to the other side of the kitchen (a new kitchen island). To soften the look of the kitchen United created floating dark wood shelves. They repaired the old wood floors and refinished them. This is only a fraction of the work they did."

"It took me a long time to decide to finally go through with my remodeling project and Mark waited it out patiently and took the job once I was ready to go. Mark was much more than a GC, he was handyman, plumber, painter, advisor, dog walker and therapist when I had the "construction meltdown".  He took the time to explain the many facets of the construction process and was able to help me visualize the final product. Although this was new construction, I wanted it to blend with the my old early 1900's house. Therefore, this wasn't your typical addition. Mark understood the look and feel  I was going for and hired quality guys to lay down reclaimed hardwood floors, build a  custom old barnwood vanity top, and even deal with the saga of installing cast iron radiators.  He worked patiently with me to make sure he understood what I wanted and that I understood what the outcome of my decisions would be. Although the project took longer than I had anticipated, Mark was able to talk me off the ledge when I just wanted it done. He told me in terms I could relate to, "it's like the Marathon, don't crawl across the finish, finish strong".   He was a perfectionist and demanded the same from his workers. He was very attention detailed and pointed out things that I never would think of.   He was price was very fair, competitive and most importantly transparent. He broke down each individual job and payments were made when each job was done, not just quarterly lump sums.
I am completely satisfied with my new/old house and now have the space to entertain big gatherings or just hunker down in front of the fire.  The only problem I have is that my dog seems to miss the attention all the guys gave her and now looks for treats whenever I walk in the door!"

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Bow, NH

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
