"Paddy's were excellent to work with. They were clear about the estimate, gave us an install date and came when they said. They were very efficient and clean around the work area. They stayed within our budget and got the job done without any fuss. I would recommend them for your house repairs."

"Very professional company. Excellent quality workmanship. They are certified Hardie installers, which is why I called them in the first place. They were very thorough in their explanations of the process, the possible choices available to me (including the pros and cons) and very upfront about what I did and did not need. When it came time for the work to be done, they kept me informed at each step. I could not be present for much of the time when they were **** the work, so they sent me pictures throughout the day and called/texted when they had a question or wanted to bring something to my attention. They kept to the schedule they had outlined, although they gave me time in the middle of the project to select and order a new light I had forgotten to get. They also accommodated several new requests I had mid-project. It all went a lot more smoothly than I had expected — the whole project was really well managed. The workmanship was very high quality. The house looks brand new — it looks really terrific! I was very, very pleased with how it all turned out. Yes, I would hire them again!"

"We were quoted a price of $195 to re-install our existing mailbox on a new post that would look as much like our neighbors' as possible, and we double-checked to be sure that this price included all labor, parts, etc before proceeding. The mailbox was instead mounted on a much thicker, stronger post and we were charged $250. We don't dispute the quality of the work, which looks good (it is all 4x6 whereas everyone else on the block has 4x4). But we wish we had been consulted beforehand about the change in plans and the extra expense."

"Excellent results. Also did mold remediation in crawl space and water proofing. Painted 24 pairs of shutters. Installed new outdoor lights for entrance and garage. Installed powder room vanity and faucets. Definitely recommend for all of the above and costs are very reasonable."

"We had no idea of the extend of the damage until Joe began removing windows which revealed extreme damage to our home. Complete removal of the front wall of our home was absoutley necessary. We had to order new windows and doors but the floor also needed repair as well. This project revealed short cuts in the orgianal construction of our home. Every time we opened up part of the wall more damage even to one corner of the house needed new support work as well. All new sideing and trim was required to complete the job correctly.Work was a bit longer than expected but he warned us of the fact due to the nature of water damage and what can result. Neat and tidy job site at the end of the day.Could not have found a better person for the job.In fact he is going to put a new deck on our home very shortly once permits are granted. We chose time and materials which we were pleased.I would highly recommend Grime Construction and definitley use them again."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Bridgeville, DE

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
