"Juan Carlos, the President, was punctual, courteous and professional. When he came to my home for the consultation, he described (and showed me pictures of) my options and I ended up paying a little more to upgrade the materials and pattern for the walkway. On the day of installation -- which was a few days earlier than originally anticipated -- Juan Carlos and his crew were punctual, polite and friendly and it took only 4 or 5 hours to complete the work. They went above and beyond in removing my old paver stones and putting them where I requested in my back yard (although that wasn't part of what I had contracted for), and did a beautiful job on the installation. During the installation, they laid down additional gravel and sand and protective barrier before they installed the pavers. Then they smoothed everything out, made the height from the walkway to the front porch safer and a more comfortable stepping distance (the step from the porch to the walkway before was so high it could be dangerous, and they fixed it without even mentioning that they were going to do so, and without charging me extra for it), and applied a cement-type product to make the pavers stick solidly together. Before they left, they added additional mulch to the planter beds next to the walkway, which matched the mulch I already had down, then raked it all smooth (which, again, wasn't specified in my contract but they did it anyway). They also cleaned up all of the debris from the work and rolled up my garden hose and placed it back where I normally store it. I would definitely recommend Sylca Inc."

"We live in a historic home in Wilmington, built in 1886. The previous owners had done a ton of renovations to the home, but it didn't take long to realize none of those renovations had been done to code. We were forced to completely rebuild the back third of our house, and surprisingly we were able to do all the work from footers to deck construction with G. Fedale. To start, G. Fedale was one of only three companies that would even give us a quote on the work (we sought quotes from a dozen). While the initial estimates came in closer to $35,000, as walls were opened surprises were found and the final cost was closer to $42,000. We literally had this portion of our home rebuilt from the ground up. A crew started by digging out old concrete footers at the back of the house and removing steal support columns and replacing the 4x4 that had been supporting the back second and third story of our home with engineered beams. From there they worked on the second floor bedroom to rebuild walls and install beams in the ceiling while removing a large wooden deck from the third floor over the bedroom. They replaced the deck with a deck-like roofing material that is both easier to replace and easier to manage (and up to city code). They installed new siding on the back of the house and new gutter systems. Jeff Bartram, the lead carpenter for our job is amazing. Words cannot describe the work that Jeff did on our home. Time after time Jeff was faced with a head scratching obstacle or shoddy work left behind by the previous renovation crew or from decades previous additions to the house and found safer, stronger and ingenious ways to repair, replace or remove the outdated or unsafe structures he found with something better. He avoided five figures worth of overruns on the project by engineering a reframing of a wall that actually made the existing structure stronger than rebuilding altogether."

"We were quoted a price of $195 to re-install our existing mailbox on a new post that would look as much like our neighbors' as possible, and we double-checked to be sure that this price included all labor, parts, etc before proceeding. The mailbox was instead mounted on a much thicker, stronger post and we were charged $250. We don't dispute the quality of the work, which looks good (it is all 4x6 whereas everyone else on the block has 4x4). But we wish we had been consulted beforehand about the change in plans and the extra expense."

"We had no idea of the extend of the damage until Joe began removing windows which revealed extreme damage to our home. Complete removal of the front wall of our home was absoutley necessary. We had to order new windows and doors but the floor also needed repair as well. This project revealed short cuts in the orgianal construction of our home. Every time we opened up part of the wall more damage even to one corner of the house needed new support work as well. All new sideing and trim was required to complete the job correctly.Work was a bit longer than expected but he warned us of the fact due to the nature of water damage and what can result. Neat and tidy job site at the end of the day.Could not have found a better person for the job.In fact he is going to put a new deck on our home very shortly once permits are granted.We chose time and materials which we were pleased.I would highly recommend Grime Construction and definitley use them again."
