"Ken was fantastic! He came to do an estimate in record time and was clear about everything he would take care of. I needed my whole house upgraded, repairs done, sockets upgraded, new sockets created, old ones removed, circuit breaker box repaired and upgraded, lighting installed, an old, over the stove microwave removed and a new over the stove exhaust fan installed. He also repaired my bathroom exhaust fan with a new motor. He worked for several days and was meticulous in his work. He was also careful about COVID issues and though he was vaccinated as I was, he still wore a mask the whole time he was here. Very respectful and responsive. A couple of unexpected challenges came up and he dealt with all of them perfectly. I couldn't have had a better experience. I felt that his price was reasonable and fair and would recommend him highly to friends and others. I would definitely call him back for any other issues. Thanks Ken!!!"

"I had been wanting to renovate both my kitchen and bathroom for a long time. A colleague suggested I call House Pro after he and his wife used them and got amazing results. I called Douglas and I was able to schedule an appointment for the very next day. I needed a ton of work done and the assessment lasted about an hour and a half. Since I had no real style or lay out in mind for the kitchen in mind, Douglas was able to provide me with a wide range of options and designs. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The bathroom was a different story since I had a very clear idea of what I wanted. After our meeting, I received a detailed range building options, layouts, materials, etc within 24 hours. I met with a many contractors before reaching out to House Pro and only received a response from about half of them (none of which as extensive as Douglas'). House Pro was not the cheapest option (they certainly came close) but, given the level of quality and craftsmanship, I feel they were by far the best value. Douglas and his crew paid incredible attention to detail, not just to their finished product, but also the cleanliness of the work site during the project and at the end of the day before leaving. My family and I were living in the apartment while this work was taking place and we barely felt anything. The entire crew was nice, helpful, and professional. I even convinced my boss to have Douglas come by our office once a month to keep an eye on our space :). All in all I would certainly recommend House Pro for any type of construction/remodeling job, their absolute pros!!!"

"Melvin came over the same day I called for an estimate and he was very clear about what he would do and how he was going to do the job.  After a couple of weeks of getting to convince my husband (he was against putting the tv over the fireplace), we called Melvin to do the job and he came over on a Sunday. I was pretty surprised since you never have anybody working on Sunday unless is an emergency.Our house was built in 1929 so is pretty solid construction around the fireplace.  It was a tough installation and he even had to cancel a couple of appointments he had for that day, that's how hard the job was (he arrived at our house at 11am and left until around 7pm) because the usual method Melvin used didn't work since there was no way for him to pass the cables down thru the floor and then up again, so he had to drill to the wall and bring the cables thru horizontally thru the wall, but he did it wiht the minimum amount of mess and even patch up the hole once he was done.  My husband is the pickiest of them all when it comes to anybody doing jobs around the house, but he was pretty satisfied with the work that Melvin did and now he loves the way the tv looks above the fireplace.  We had friends over a few weeks later and complimented how clean the job was done and how nice it looked.  All in all, we're very happy and we will definitely call Melvin when we're ready to install our A/Cs or do anything electrical. Melvin is a true professional and one of those rare people out there that takes real pride in a job well done and will not walk away until you're satisfied with his work.  It only took me a bit of time to get to post the review because I was waiting for the bookcases to put on either side of the fireplace and give it the finish look to upload the picture.

"I needed someone to demo my out-dated kitchen in my 100-year old house to the studs and re-wire the entire kitchen with all new electrical. My house is in Bergen County. I needed new wiring to 16 separate outlets/plugs, new wiring for on/off switches for 2 lights, 2 new dimmers and wiring for 2 more lights, new wiring for a new ceiling fan, 6 new ceiling lights, new wiring for a refrigerator, new wiring for a dishwasher, new wiring for a microwave, new wiring for an oven, new wiring for an electric cooktop, new wiring to five outside floodlights, and 7 new circuit breakers, plus some other similar work. Since there was so much work to do, I did not want an electrician to just throw an over-estimated quote at me and I sought out an electrician who would give me an eight-hour day-rate for labor only and who would just come to my house each day and just work on whatever needed to be done until everything was done. I was not worried about paying an hourly rate because if I felt the electrician was working too slow on purpose to make more money, then I would be able to tell him not to finish the job and I would be done with him. I also wanted an electrician who would let me buy all the materials myself so I would save some money by not paying the over-inflated prices and the ridiculous mark-ups that some contractors charge when they are the ones who provide the materials. I reached out to several electricians to see if they would provide the eight-hour, flat fee, per day rate that I was looking for. Some said no. Three said yes. Phaenehas/Select Electrical was one of the three who said yes. Phaenehas/Select Electrical was about half the price per-day (eight hours, one person) of the other two. From his initial contact with me less than two hours after I reached out to him, I knew that Phaenehas was the real-deal. The in-depth questions that he asked me about the project and his completely thorough responses to my questions told me after just one conversation that Phaenehas was an expert electrician with many years of experience. He was not at all a fly-by-night newbie that was low-balling me on price just to get some work. When Phaenehas came to my house to look at the project, all the positives that I felt after speaking with him on the phone were confirmed – He knew exactly what he was doing and he was not there to rip me off. And those are the two most important things that I look for in a contractor. And, an added plus was that Phaenehas was willing to do the demo work for me since the demo involved removing a great deal of old electrical work. And his price for the demo was about 40% less than what other contractors wanted for the same work. The project went extremely smoothly from start to finish. Phaenehas was here for six days. He has a great, easy going personality. He worked on every aspect of the project as if he were working on his own house. He answered any questions I had in detail. He made suggestions that saved me money. He was on time every day. He stayed late if he needed to finish something he had started – one Saturday he stayed until midnight to help me stay on my deadline for the sheetrock to be installed. I rate Phaenehas an A+++ for this extremely large project. His customer service is top-notch and he makes it clear that customer service is a priority. His knowledge of electrical work is outstanding. After meeting and working with Phaenehas, I can say with confidence that his goal is to provide expert electrician services to homeowners at prices that are significantly less than what other area electricians in the Bergen County area commonly charge. In the future, I will definitely call Phaenehas/Select Electrical whenever I have an electrical need, large or small."
