"I had Mike from River city fire and BBQ come to my home and give me ideas about what could be done for a fire place. After finding what I wanted and what would fit in my fireplace I started the process. I had to have a gas line placed and Mike had a great referral for that. Once that was done the fireplace insert was done in one day. Mike's installer was great....took his time and a perfectionist. I was very happy with the whole process and how it turned out!"

"I called John first but he could not come out until the next day due to other appointments. My wife wanted it fixed that same night so I had no choice but to call another business. They did a terrible job installing the replacement burner. They then tell me that I needed a new valve. I didn't quite trust them so I called JRW Plumbing. John came out later that day and found out it was leaking gas. The last repair man did a terrible job and was missing parts. John was able to get the burner installed correctly and replaced my gas valve. He was professional and awesome. I would definitely hire again."

"After trying everything I could to unclog our drain line, including running a hose all the way down and having the city check the main line, I called Rapid Rooter and they responded immediately. They not only ran the snake down from the access hole (where we knew it ws clogged), they ran it up the pipe and found some root intrusion that was adding to the problem. Rapid Rooter is now inserting a cleanout access to the line, which I will evaluate in a separate report.

This is at least the third time I have used Rapid Rooter, and each time they have responded quickly for a fair price. Last year they came back after hours because our main drain reclogged several days after they first cleared it, and they did not charge us even though the second clog was much further down the line than the first call. I don't know if there are cheaper companies in the area, but Rapid Rooter has provided quality professional service each time we have used them."

"Using MasterServ is a perfect example of the pros and cons of using a big company. They were able to offer a lower price (by several hundred dollars) than other estimates I received because they specialize in volume (and not necessarily quality). The estimator who came was extremely pleasant and professional, however, internal communication in this company is a disaster. Therefore, small details like getting a new shower valve installed and installign new shower heads were initially overlooked by the installers because this wasn't communicated between the estimator and the crew. I never met the so-called project manager, who should have been there the first day to make sure everyone was on the same page about what was to be done. It was explained to me by the estimator that it would be a two-day job (true). The first day, the crew showed up and spent about two hours cutting holes in the walls and prepping the house. The second day they were there from 7 AM until 830 at night, working like crazy to get it done that day -- very stressful. When I saw that they hadn't installed the new shower valve, I got some grief from the crew and the so-called project manager over the phone, and this was eventually rectified with me paying an extra $200 to have the crew come back for an hour or so to install. When the job was complete they had disconnected and capped some old galvanized pipes, but with the new water pressure they blew out a couple weeks later (because they make their money by moving fast, quality and client communication suffer!). The guy they sent to do the drywall patching was a total incompetent. He showed up a couple days after the plumbing work was done started work and left mid-day saying he'd be back the next day to finish, though he never did return. I called the so-called project manager who was surprised to hear that the job wasn't done and it took a few more days for them to schedule a new guy to come out who had to re-do everything because the first guy was incompetent. In the final analysis, this company was the cheapest alternative, but there were a lot of headaches -- stay on top of them and make sure they do the work correctly!"

"Tim did an excellent job. For parts that needed replacing he gave me options, and made recommendations based on his view as to value rather than price. Considering how much time he spent, price was reasonable. I had not had much experience with a gas grill. After completing the repair Tim gave me tips on how to use and maintain. Repair was about a year ago and continues to work great. Next time I need help with the grill I will be calling Tim."

"Great. I needed to have the fitting on the gas line that comes out of the wall updated to be used with a new range and oven. It's an older home and the existing gas line fitting would not work with the new range. The work was completed quickly and correctly -- and that was terrific. And yet, that wasn't the whole value play for me. This range was being installed on December 23 and that's when the problem was found. Facing a Christmas with no range and oven was a real possibility and yet, not surprisingly, it was very difficult to find someone who could address this quickly. The fix was known to be easy yet availability was the problem. And, in fact, I had struck out after calling a half dozen firms on Angie's list trying to find someone who could do this. When I called Armstrong it was the same story: It would be several days before they could get someone out to address the issue. Yet, when I explained the impact of that, the woman from Armstrong services was extremely sensitive to the situation and reworked her tech schedule of get someone in to get it done that day -- within a couple of hours of my request. It's not an exaggeration to say that she saved Christmas. After this experience, I would highly recommend Armstrong."

"R Plumbing was recommended to me by the construction plumbing company. I called one day and described the job; Dave was here the next day and promptly completed the job. He examined the job location, went out to his truck to prepare the PEX and copper pipe to be spliced into the existing plumbing, then went into the attic and finished the job without any problems."

"Michael was genuinely courteous and interested in my problem as I described it when he answered the phone -- as he also happened to be in Vacaville at the moment finishing up work for another customer he said he would be happy to come over and take a look at the spigot in approx. 30 minutes. He appeared when promised, he explained the worst case possibility (which could have involved stucco repair/replacement) and was able to separate the old leaking faucet from its pipe and replace it with a new one (which he supplied) without any damage to the surrounding stucco and the part and his work cost much less than I expected. Also cleaned up. Additionally answered other questions on another issue I plan to work on with relevant observations and suggestions with a reasonable probable cost. I'll definitely hire again."

"I called several companies on Angie's List and none of them would come for 4 days. I found him through a referral through someone else and he came and fixed it. He did a temporary fix until he could come and do a repair. It seemed like the other companies which were major companies didn't understand that my water was gushing down my street. Its not like I could turn my water off. John came out and bypassed the meter. The price was reasonable I thought. I would use him again. I have referred him to many people. The first thing is that he was the only one who would come promptly. He came in 2 hours. He bypassed came back 2 days later. They had to dig up my lawn to replace the pipe and when they were done you could not even tell they had touch the lawn. You could not see where they had dug it up. They were on time and did the job quickly and efficiently. I couldn't say enough good things."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Brooks, CA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
