"These guys are awesome, hands down. They came to my house quickly and did a full inspection and quote the same day. Started work two weeks later and rebuilt both of my crumbling chimneys beautifully. Nelson, Kevin, Segundo, and Carlos - you are all excellent!"

"Kudos to Canestri Plumbing for once again coming through in a crisis in my home. This occurred on 10/29/2020. Coming home from a five day absence, I found water in the basement, leaking from the floor above. Not knowing its source, I called Canestri early the next day. My call was answered by the answering service and returned by Paul within fifteen minutes. Within another forty-five minutes, Brian was at my home reviewing the situation and diagnosing the problem quickly (a leaking toilet tank). Brian gave me my two options: repair the old tank (which was perhaps thirty years old) or replace it. I decided to replace everything since the toilet was so old and really too small for an adult. Brian put a call into Paul who happened to be at the supplier at that moment. Paul brought over the new toilet, they installed it quickly and efficiently, and were on their way less than an hour after the toilet had arrived. The entire operation from initial phone call to diagnosis to waiting for Paul to bring over the new toilet and the installation took a little less than three hours. The total cost seemed quite reasonable and fair especially considering the convenience of having everything done so quickly. As far as I am concerned, this was a job very well done. They were professionals who responded quickly, knew what they were doing, respected my property, cleaned up after themselves and fixed the problem all within a relatively short amount of time. Thank you, guys. Job well done. Recommend highly."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Centerbrook, CT

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
