"My initial contact with Hans Nix was a bit odd as I had just started looking on Angie's List for Electricians and received a call from Mr. Nix. He asked me what type of work I needed to have done, I told him and he said he saw my inquiry on Home Advisor. I was not aware Angie's List and Home Advisor were one entity? Nevertheless, he came out that very day, 8/13/18 and gave me a quote for the job. In hindsight perhaps I should have obtained at least one more quote/estimate, as the actual time he spent replacing my fixtures was 5 hours. This equals $145.00 per hour. Two days later I found issues with both Vanity Lights in my bathrooms and had to call Mr. Nix back. He claimed the problems lay with the fixtures, that I needed to obtain new ones from the company I ordered them and he will come back out and switch them out. Now, I am not the type of person who hovers over people while they are performing work in or around my home. However, when Mr. Nix was finished he was in a rush to be on his way so I went ahead and paid him. It was not until the following day that I noticed the problem with the fixtures. One Vanity Light had 6 shades of which 2 were not all the way screwed to the top. I tried to fix this and all it would do was turn without catching on anything. Another one was completely touching my mirror and it was impossible to move it. The Vanity Light in my Guest Bath had a sizeable defect in the brass coating. I thought this would be in the back, however, I was mistaken and it is in the front of the fixture. Mr. Nix left these 2 fixtures in this condition without saying anything to me before he left. I feel it would have been prudent of him to mention these defects to me as I certainly would not have had him install the Guest Bath Vanity Fixture at all and have him take a look at the Master Bath Vanity Fixture to find out why 3 shades fit perfectly and the other 3 did not when all the pieces were identical. For Mr. Nix to return he will charge what he calls a "service call" and will cost $75.00 to re-install the new Vanity Fixtures when they arrive. I had mentioned to him that I thought the electrical box in the Master Bath should be re-located higher and would hope that is included in the $75.00. I am debating as to whether or not to have him back, in part because he keeps trying to sell me his "Whole House Surge Protection," and also due to the rather high cost I've already paid and it seems to be ongoing."
