"Beautiful work. However, was told it would be a one day project. Wound up taking parts of two days. Still believe it could have been done in one day if the crew, Alan and Thomas, hadn’t left shortly after 2pm the first day. They came back the second day and finished in about 3 hours; that’s including their break time. I’m very pleased with the finished project, but can’t give a higher rating because of the crew."

"It took us the longest to post this review because we genuinely wanted to give the company the opportunity to honor and stand by their work, but we are now completely exhausted with the level of service provided. : Unsatisfactory Installation, Product Misrepresentation, and Zero Post-Payment Service Do not use this company. We had numerous defects and experienced bait-and-switch tactics during our shower installation. First, the company convinced us to drop the high-quality doors we purchased, assuring us their doors were superior. The doors they installed were, in fact, noticeably cheaper and lower quality. Second, the installation was clearly a rush job resulting in multiple defects: The shower pan was improperly siliconed, causing water to leak out during use. The railing/trim installed above the shower was also not properly siliconed along the top edge; you can press on it and clearly see the inadequate sealing. Most frustratingly, their service stops the moment they secure the fi"

"From the design consultation to the installation everyone was fantastic. My father’s tub to shower conversion was completed in a day. It has been life changing for him as it has become extremely difficult for him to step over the tub. He said his only regret was that he waited so long before getting it done. "

"They make life easy and projects exceptional. Grateful to have them in Lexington, SC! We worked with Palmetto Renovations from fall of 2023 through February of this year and we should have connected with their design specialty showroom and staff years ago as our home has never looked better. Our kitchen finally features real stone quartzite with a blend of stunning LVP waterproof flooring, elegant tiled backsplash and an entirely new lighting system from chandeliers to the under cabinet lighting. They replaced a window in the bay area to match the exterior clad. All trim was stained and by the time things were wrapped up, there were no imperfections to even address. It was an experience to brag about."

"No, the job was not done correctly. My front porch looks horrible now. The rails for the steps looks unprofessional. I am going to take it down . Pictures will be uploaded"

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in Columbia, SC

Replacing your tub with a shower can modernize your bathroom and improve accessibility, often providing a high return on investment. However, if it's the only bathtub in your home, removing it may decrease resale value, as many buyers look for at least one bathtub. Consider your long-term plans and consult a real estate professional if resale value is a concern.

While showers cost slightly more to install than tubs, the overall expense depends on various factors such as materials, size, and features. A tub installation costs $2,400 to $8,800 on average, whereas showers average $2,000 to $9,400. Custom designs, luxury fixtures, or extensive plumbing work can increase costs for both options. It's important to assess your specific needs and budget when deciding between installing a shower or a tub.

Converting a tub to a shower generally takes between one and three days. The timeline depends on the complexity of the project, materials chosen, and whether plumbing modifications are necessary. Installing a standard prefabricated shower can be completed quickly, while custom tile work or extensive plumbing changes may extend the project's duration. Planning accordingly can help minimize disruptions during the conversion.

Converting a tub to a shower offers several benefits, including saving space and making your bathroom feel more open and modern. Showers improve accessibility, especially for those with mobility challenges, by eliminating the need to step over a high tub wall. Additionally, updating to a stylish shower can enhance your bathroom's aesthetic appeal and may increase your home's resale value if another tub is available elsewhere in the house.

Choosing between a shower stall and a custom shower depends on your budget and preferences. Prefabricated stalls are less expensive and faster to install but offer limited styles. Custom showers allow personalization of size, materials, and features but cost more and require professional installation. Evaluate your needs and budget to select the best option for your space.

If you’re converting a tub to a shower, you may want to consider remodeling your whole bathroom. The ROI on bathroom remodels is high (over 70%), so you can enjoy an upgraded bathroom while you live in your home and get your money back if you decide to sell later. The average cost to remodel a bathroom is around $6,600 to $16,600, so factor in this price range when you’re budgeting for your project.

Converting a tub to a shower alone isn't easy to DIY, so look for a bathroom remodeler near you if you decide to take on a larger bathroom remodel to ensure it's done correctly.
