"After contacting Neale a few times by phone, I decided it was best to contact him by email.  Once I emailed, I got an immediate response and a date was set for them to come out and fix my front railing just a few days later.  They arrived within the window indicated and completed the work beautifully within a few hours.  They were extremely pleasant and professional.  The work was fantastic.  Neale provided the best price by far out of the several I received estimates from.  I would highly recommend Baltimore Wrought Fence and Rail."

"Steve Hessler was very professional in providing an estimate to replace the front porch.  The crew showed up a little later than expected due to a flat tire.  They finished the job in one day and removed all of the debris.  Yard was left very clean and no damage to landscaping. One minor issue was addressed and corrected within a week.  Overall we are pleased with the outcome.

"mail. We originally contacted the contractor near the end of April since my wife and I wanted to get some stumps removed from our back yard and to replace the fence. We were also wondering if we needed to get the large spruce tree at the front of the house cut down since it was leaning and shedding alot of needles. Ben came out and gave us an estimate for removing the tree, grinding and removing the stumps in the yard, taking down the fence, and grading the sloping back yard, which is what we also wanted.
The quote we received was complete, and stated that it was good for 60 days. Well, work ramped up, and we weren't able to get fence quotes as well as a boundary survey completed until mid to late June after we came back from vacation. At that point, we had decided to leave the tree alone, since we were told it was healthy and not a danger. We also found a fence company we were comfortable working with.
Two days after the 60 days was up, I both telephoned and emailed the company with a revison of the original quote (minus the tree removal)  and said that I hoped that that quote was still good, and that we would like to get the work done within two weeks to coordinate with the fence contractor.
I didn't get any response, so I again left a voice mail.
I understand that it is a small family-owned business, but I would hope that someone would check both email and voice messages at least once a day.  Email is great, but it still doesn't beat the personal touch of a real person's voice on the phone.
I'd still like to hire them, and I know that I let time pass before deciding to hire them, but I would appreciate some contact, please.

"Contacted on neighbor's recommendation before I joined here.
Called for an estimate to have an area excavated and install a retaining wall, drainage, and a slab on which I could build a shed.
Pete was able to come by the same day to look at the job. He was punctual, professional, friendly, and helpful by suggesting improvements and options to my plan. He even suggested cost saving options to me.
Pete was able to provide me an estimate via email by the next day, something that no other company I contacted was able to do! Bravo!
He was available to quickly answer questions by email and all around great. I had to wait quite some time for other companies to quote before I could decide. When the other companies' quotes came in, Piescape was competitive, matching one other company exactly in price, but not the cheapest. Piescape's quote did include better materials (wall blocks, and drainage) which would put his quote in first place for some. I was on a tight budget and wanted the cheaper system, so ultimately I did not choose his company.

Overall, I felt comfortable with him, and felt like I would have been 100% satisfied with his company doing the work. If the price difference was a little lower, I would have paid more for Piescape.

I also would like to say that he got a very high recommendation from the block distributor when I went to look at the color choices.

Thanks Pete, and I hope to contact you again for my next project."

FAQs for barbed wire fence installation projects in Darlington, MD

Barbed wire is a type of fencing made from steel wire with sharp edges or points spaced along the strands. It's designed to prevent unauthorized entry or contain livestock by acting as a physical deterrent. Barbed wire fences are often seen in agricultural settings or high-security areas because they're effective, durable, and require little maintenance.

You can expect to pay between $3 and $6 per linear foot for a barbed wire fence, including installation. The exact price depends on factors like material quality, number of strands, wire thickness, and labor costs. If you have a larger project, bulk purchasing and hiring a professional might offer cost savings.

The number of strands you need depends on the fence's purpose and the level of security you want. For a standard livestock fence, you might use three to five strands. For higher-security needs, you may require more strands to meet your needs. Consider your specific requirements and talk to your fence installation pro to determine the appropriate number.

Barbed wire fencing regulations vary by location. In many residential areas, the use of barbed wire is restricted or prohibited due to safety concerns. Before installing a barbed wire fence, work with your barbed wire fence installation pro to check local zoning laws and homeowner association rules to ensure compliance with regulations.

The lifespan of a barbed wire fence depends on the quality of materials and environmental conditions. Fences made with high-quality, galvanized wire and proper coatings can last between 20 and 30 years. Regular maintenance and inspections can extend the fence's longevity by addressing issues like rust or damaged strands promptly.
