"It went smoothly. I had the work done to bring the house up to code. It passed inspection by the city of Rockville, MD for the installation of a new water heater. Small holes in mortar joints were filled, too. The estimate was prepared by Justin Pentifallo and work completed by Chance Bradshaw with an assistant."

"Iâ m going to begin this review by saying, I have never hired someone to do a job on my house where I have been completely satisfied with the labor and the finished product. Until now. I just hired a company to remove my existing shingle roof and replace it. Not only is the finished product of excellent quality, but the technicians were extremely diligent in making sure everything was done with precision. The entire job even down to the clean up afterwards is outstandingâ ¦. I highly recommend Coxs Roofing and I will be using them whenever I need roofing work done. Oh! And they also had the best price quote out of three estimates I received. R.L.H. 1121 Roland Heights Ave. 21211"

"I have an old end unit rowhouse in Upper Fells Point that had a large crack in the brick extending from the 1st floor through the 2nd floor. Stinebaugh provided what I would consider to be a fair price to complete the work. The job came out looking great, and they ended up having some extra time on the contract which they used to replace a few bricks and patch at the front of the house. I plan to use Stinebaugh again in the fall to fix/replace exterior cracked brick as well as replace all four front window lintels."

"Thumbs up! Everything was exactly as we wanted, and the installation went smoothly. There were no problems, the granite fit perfectly into the kitchen. Sonny and his crew were prompt, told us exactly what to expect so that we were completely prepared for them, and cleaned up when they finished. This is the 3rd time we have used Top Granite, and would recommend them without hesitation! <br />"

"The teams of installers were very competent and professional. They were punctual and took time to explain and answer all questions about the work. When we ran into an unexpetced problem with a bee nest in the crawlspace, they worked to resolve it and came back to finish the job promptly. The front office staff and owner were efficient and responsive throughout the process. It went expremely well."

"I had a relatively small project that needed to be taken care of and Chris and his colleague Mark worked quickly and efficiently to fix my problem! Chris worked on the brickwork, and Mark repaired the water damage that had been done on the interior of the house, and Mark even painted after he repaired the interior! They both did high quality work and I am incredibly happy with the jobs they did."

"Mr. Pence himself came to make the estimate the day after I called. He was right on time, and professional. After spending a good amount of time talking with me and examining our needs, he came to the conclusion that our roof was actually in very good shape, and that we just needed maintenance (sealing around chimneys and vents, checking all ridge vents, and rehanging gutters). He estimated that we had another 5 or so years of life on the roof, at which point he would be happy to come back and bid on the job. Mr. Pence also advised that the cost of roofing materials was about to go up significantly on the short term due to all of the hurricane damage. I greatly appreciated his honesty and advice and foregoing a lucrative job. I am looking for someone to do the work he recommended, and I will definitely be calling him back when I do need to replace the roof."

"This is the second time we've used Clarksville Construction for home repairs. Both times we worked directly with Quelvin Gonzalez who is knowledgeable, efficient, and dependable. You never have to wonder if Quelvin is going to return your phone call or respond to your email. Both projects came off without a hitch. He just takes any worry and anxiety off your shoulders from the initial call all the way through to project completion. The first time we used Clarksville Construction was the spring of this year (2021) to replace deck posts that were showing rot at ground level. It's a large deck with a heavy roof, and all five posts were replaced by a skilled crew who exceeded our expectations. Clarksville Construction just completed a second job for us. A huge piece of drywall fell off the ceiling of the garage on a 25-year-old home! Quelvin came out and noticed the builder (Patriot Homes) used nails (not screws) to "secure" the drywall to the ceiling. Quelvin orchestrated a team of two to replace the drywall that fell off and secured the rest of the ceiling drywall with screws and such. I would also like to give kudos to the team that handles phone calls. They are kind and very responsive. Don't stress. Just call Clarksville Construction."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Dayton, MD

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
