"I hired this company to extend the natural gas in my house and would definitely recommend them. I felt that the plumber who did the installation really knew what he was doing and seemed like a great guy. The installation went well and the price was fair."

"Excellent! The repair person (Eve ,not sure of the spelling, sorry!) quickly located the source of the problem--it was not the sink (as I first thought) but it was part of the toilet. Eve eventually determined that it was not the pipe per se, but a leaky seal around the toilet itself where it met the floor. Problem diagnosed, and fixed!"

"My husband was home when the plumber performed the work. Based on what he tells me, the gentleman did a great job and was extremely nice. From the initial contact through Angie's List messages, I was able to schedule for the following day. We just moved to St. Charles County and discovered the faucets connected to the washer hoses leaked pretty badly - enough where we had to turn them off between washes. Also, the master shower handle had a rotation of 180 degrees, and only the last 5-10 degrees was the hot water. The plumber was able to replace the valve which fixed the problem. He also made the water pipe less wobbly in the wall. He tightened the packings around the washer faucets, too. The only thing I didn't really like was the price of the new valve. Overall, though, we'd have this plumber back again and really liked the service he provided; very professional and courteous. <br />"

"I had J.R. Plumbing come out to fix a leaky shower and leaky outside faucet. I also had him snake a washing machine drain that I wasn't able to snake manually (he used an electric snake). Joe came when he said he'd come and fixed everything that I asked him to fix. It looks like the leaks are fixed. We also ran the washing machine, and it no longer overflows. I thought the price was reasonable, and Joe was also prompt and courteous. It was a good experience, and I'd call them again."

"Hely was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend them!  <br /> Following the Laclede Gas Home Sale Inspection, it was discovered there was a leak in one of the gas runs and the house needed a flue liner for the hot water heater (now code). There was a need to get this work done quickly due to the upcoming clsoing. <br /> My agent recommended I call Hely. They understood fully what was needed and their pricing was much better than the other two  companies I had called. In addition, Melissa, (who was fabulous to work with) saw to it that someone was at my house the next day to find and repair the gas leaks. (I was without stove or hot water). The other companies were at least a week out for an appt. Tim, the tech, arrived early. He was very professional, courteous and diligent. He was a really nice guy! He also helped coordinate coming back to install the flue liner and made sure the appt was in place before he left. The following Monday, just as promised,  the flue liner was installed. <br /> Their customer service is outstanding. Their pricing <em>more</em> than competitive. They are now, the only HVAC company I will use. <br /> They are coming to my new house this week, to install a humidifying unit! <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in De Soto, MO

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
