"The two men that came to install the units were great! Their attention to detail, and thoroughness was amazing. They were open to discussing different ways to install line sets, etc. This is not typical of most contractors. In fact they were checking in with me frequently to ensure I was happy with the way the job was going. My only complaint would be that the owner's communication was spotty after signing the contract. I received a bill to pay for the system, but it was not yet installed or even scheduled. After several messages without response from the owner I contacted the finance company to put a freeze on the account as I was concerned I had not heard from him. I received a call from Don 2 days later scheduling the install for the following week. During that discussion he did mention he was out of town for the last two weeks in a poor cell phone reception area. This very well might have been the case, but a heads up to me would have been nice. I was initially told 2-3 weeks from date of signing contract. It was a month later without communication. It could have all been a misunderstanding, either way Don was pleasant to deal with, and stuck to his bid. I am happy with the process and install and would encourage anyone to utilize quiet corner mechanical for their HVAC needs."

"I could not be more pleased with this company or this service. I found them here on AL and with a rebate, it was a great deal. When I called, the woman who answered was extremely polite and helpful and took the time to go over the entire audit process with me (she wasn't rushed as some receptionists are). They sent an email to confirm the date and time.
When the team arrived, they were on time and each of them introduced themselves by name to me before coming into my house. They were all very polite and courteous. The leader (I can't remember his name) gave me an overview of the process and explained things as they went. Basically, they simulate high winds around the house and then monitor for where leaks are. My house is relatively new and has no basement, so it was already pretty efficient, but there were some major leaks by the front door and attic door, which they sealed on the spot. They also showed me that I could hold my hand over any electrical socket, even ones on interior walls, and feel the "wind"--which means air was leaking out those! So I plugged them all with those little socket protectors. The guys also took me into the attic and showed me some leaks, and fixed them--and fixed the attic door by adding a little latch to help it stay closed. All in all, they reduced the amount of air getting into my house by 500 (I forget the units). It was clear they didn't just make up this number--they showed me the number after the first test and then after the second test (when they had treated the problem areas).
I also got a few free CFLs and LEDs, and bought 3 more LEDs since they were at a great price. They left some rebates with me, although all my appliances are new so I didn't need anything. 
When they left, they each said goodbye and were very professional until the end. They were respectful in my home and asked before opening any closets or doors, etc. I felt very safe with them here, which is not always the case when people are in your home working. I think the price is a fantastic one, especially with the AL rebate that was on when I scheduled. I feel I got my money's worth. My husband and I had tried to plug some leaks ourselves, but we didn't really know what we were doing and we had no way to measure if we were really helping anything. This audit gave me hard numbers to look at and I was impressed that they did the fixes on-site (included in the price--for instance, they plugged a whole around my front door frame by installing a clear plastic barrier). It was a great deal and a great experience. Highly recommend!
Bonus--when we resell this house in a few years, I will definitely list that we got a professional energy audit performed on it and that it's very efficient. Definitely a selling point!

"David does meticulous work. The rooms he painted look great. He did beautiful work in the bathroom, hallway and dining room. The doors and trim were carefully done and look wonderful. He gave good advice regarding painting over old wallpaper, and the dining room and bathroom do not look like there is wallpaper under the paint at all.



However, he was difficult to plan with and rarely gave a definitive answer when discussing completion of work within the three day, pre-paid timeframe. This lack of confirmation was extremely frustrating. I told him I wanted the bathroom, hallway and dining room painted, but it was consistently unclear whether or not that could be done in the pre-paid time frame. 



David spoke several times as to how this type of deal doesn't make him any money, and that other people had followed up after the completion of the deal with more work for David. This implied that I had an obligation to hire him for more hours. While I didn't appreciate this repeated suggestion, David did not complete the work in the three day pre-paid timeframe, and I felt I had to hire him to finish the job. He originally quoted just under $400 to finish painting the dining room. The next day, when I had not committed, he dropped the price to $160. He completed two coats in a half day, which was a surprise, considering how slowly he worked the rest of the time.

 

I feel that the frustrating level of communication could have been avoided had a contract been written up ahead of time. This would have avoided ALL of the confusion and frustration that made this an unpleasant experience.

"Great. Tyler was very professional, did an excellent job caulking the whole exterior of my house and my apartment building. Fixed the leaks around the chimney, and installed drip edge on the apartment roof. Very reasonable rates, and cleaned up all the work areas. I had him come back and stain my 3 decks, he is very efficient and does a great job. I will definitely use his company again for any projects I have coming up."
