Most of all, he was able to get my garage door working properly again! My appointment window was between 10am - 12pm, he called around 8:20am to see if he could come over now. I was very pleased that he was arriving early. "In October 2014 Mr. Lazo came to look at the task at hand. I showed him what I wanted done and he pointed out a couple of wood rot problems that I had not noticed. Once we finished the walk around, he prepared a detailed proposal - before leaving.
I had also talked with another contractor about the same work. They took several days to prepare a proposal, and when I e-mailed with a specific question the reply I got (from the other company, not George's painting) was not satisfactory.
George mobilized his crew, and they were on the site at 7AM. Because there was rain in the forecast, he brought in a larger crew than original discussed, and was able to finish the job quicker than originally scheduled. The work was great, they carefully cleaned up and  left the house and yard in excellent shape.
I had specifically asked that they not touch one side of the garage because of some carpentry work that needed to be done - I was planning to do it. I was so pleased with the work that they did on the house and the rest of the garage that I asked George to give me a quote for doing the carpentry work on the garage. I liked the price and I decided to have him do it. The carpenter came out today Nov 12th - 7AM again, and took care of the carpentry work and painted it.
I am pleased with the work that George's Painting has done, and would expect to contact Mr. Lazo again in the future if I need interior painting or other painting or carpentry work. I don't expect to be needing any exterior painting.

"We didn't go with them. We were unimpressed. They didn't get back to us like we hoped they would. We were trying to talk to somebody to ask answers and we weren't getting the kind of answers we thought we should get. They made a few judgment calls without doing the kind of inspection we would have liked. They said they always replace certain things without really looking at them. Frankly they did not fill us with a great deal of confidence. It was a very personal high pressure kind of situation. They said we had to make the commitment right now or otherwise we would miss the wonderful savings. There were a number of things that did not feel good to us. They actually showed up when they said they would and they were on time. The first guy was very knowledgeable but I was very unhappy with the pressure. He knew what he was talking about but I didn't think the style was very attractive."

 The workman was meticulous about keeping everything as clean and dust free as possible.
All areas were shrouded in plastic sheeting and all floors were protected.

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
