"The work was excellent. Brian McCracken performed a walk-though with me and provided detailed written estimates for the interior and exterior work. He explained the options and costs for each of the tasks, and was prompt in scheduling the jobs. His teams are first rate. Communication is excellent and they leave the site clean and tidy each day. There was not a drip of stray stray paint anywhere during or after the jobs. I especially appreciated the interior service. They emptied the closets and replaced everything after as they went along. They also took down and rehung all of the pictures and moved furniture as necessary. They were very responsive to follow-up issues (not their fault) with the fit of the front door after painting and replacing the seal. They came back twice to make adjustments and the final outcome was exactly what i wanted. All American was recommended to me by a friend who was very impressed with their exterior work on his townhouse. I recommended them to a neighbor who is also very pleased with their interior painting.  They are not the lowest bidder but their prices are fair and the work is of the highest quality."

"Everything was done very well; removal of old sunroom materials, installation of new wall and roof over additional roof area. All wood work was very well done, installation of new glass and new structural roof! All done well. Exception was the new roof! Here the interfacing of new roof with existing roof was not done well. All the construction was completed at end - literally in last week of 2015; all seemed well for first winter of 2016, then in spring of 2016 the roof began leaking at or near the interface of new with the existing roof. I called Mr. Bart Scesney, the Senior Design Consultant , overseeing the project and reported the leak. He promised a fix. Then through the summer of 2016 the leak seemed to resolve itself but with return of winter the roof leaked through the winter of 2016 -2017. I called Mr. Scesney again and again received a promise of a repair; nothing happened. Again in winter of 2017-2018 leaks occurred, again I called with the same null response. Finally in the fall of 2018 I sent an email to Mr. Scesney with a copy to the President of TRS, Mr. Joe Henley. Again a promise of a repair but no response. Thus, this complaint to Angie's list and the same to the Better Business Bureau. Next will be a formal legal proceeding to sue the company for the cost of an urgent repair. Really hate to take this action because all other aspects of the work was so well done. But I must stop the leak; I have a cathedral ceiling and as a result a leak comes directly into my home."

"Steven did an amazing job at a very competitive rate. He set a work schedule that was convenient for us and always showed up on time. His estimate for labor and materials was spot on. We did not end up with excess material or waste. Steven was great to work with, friendly, and easy to talk to. We had never taken on a project of this scope, but he was always happy to lend some advice and answer our questions. I had no problem leaving Steve to his work while I had to leave the house to run errands. Completely trustworthy. I would use his services again and recommend Townside wholeheartedly."

I had contacted  five other contractors before finding Barry and his stellar team. Two contractors were no shows and three showed but did not return with an estimate, even after several calls to them. I knew that the job would be challenging and would require a skilled architect and contractor. While where the pool sat was level ground, the ground surrounding it was not, it provided very difficult elevation changes. Additionally the deck had to marry to the house and Florida room elevations, which were also different. I also wanted the deck boards to carry over the pool edge all around the pool - an oval pool within a disparate geometric deck (probably why the other contractors ran away)

Barry arrived on time to provide an estimate, made some initial measurements, addressed material requirements, number of gates, steps, access points, etc. Provided a rough order of magnitude based on estimated square footage and asked if he could have his architect come out. I agreed and he said he would get back to me. Barry returned the following day with the architect, three days after that we had plans and a contract. Two days after that we had a permit, then 3 days later the material was delivered and with it a crew that I can say based on experience before and after the job is in all likely hood the best  in the area (not my first contracting rodeo in Virginia Beach). Barry's "A" team is compromised of his son Chase, Fanz Roman and Gilder Roman. The crew was polite, attentive and most importantly WORKED from the time they arrived till the time they departed. 

I know Barry had other jobs ongoing in parallel with mine; but Barry showed up regularly to both work alongside his crew and provide supervision for the challenging compound miters (though little to no supervision was needed-they all have mad carpentry skills!). Barry did have to absent himself for a job up north for a day or two; but the team never missed a beat and Barry called me to ensure I was having no issues. One of Barry's attributes that I really appreciated, other than his knowledge and experience, was his responsiveness, whether through email or phone he always answered immediately. I also appreciated that we worked as a team. If there was an issue it was resolved quickly. As an example, it became apparent that the planned deck pattern would not work, though it looked good on paper. Fanz and Gilder designed a solution, laid it out for approval, The result  was perfect!

I have two more projects I am saving for. I am not even going to waste my time chasing after other contractors. Barry's price is within the market, his work ethic exemplary and he delivers on his promise, the jobs will be his. I want it right, so I will wait for his availability.

"Everything ran smooth and they came in under budget. It is nice to have a handyman service that is professional and honest.  They really took their time to make sure that they knew the source of the leak and that they had it sealed.  They also advised me of the possibility of more storms tomorrow and offered to clean out the gutters while they were there for a very fair price.  Sense having my knee replaced I don't do roofs anymore; well I know who I can call now.  Again thanks Walls Construction and Handyman Service, no more roof leaks or gutters clogged."

"He was professional from start to finish. We had a few delays due to product needing to be ordered but he was on time when he said he would be at our house. Ben, the owner did a large portion of the work himself and that really pleased us that he was so involved. The railings in our home look beautiful and the front door is going to be the finishing touch. All work is top notch.
He is on our short list of who to call if something needs repaired, replaced or spruced up.

"We interviewed six vendors to receive estimates and explore various products and installation options.  The price estimates of our top three were fairly close.  We chose American Siding in-part because it is a local small business, but also because of the product line and workmanship techniques described  The project was delayed about a month from the target start date due to prior job sire requesting additional work not included in their original contract.  Our project included high end vinyl siding with foam backing and we had over 30 windows on the house and shed.  Paul worked with us to use lower grade siding and windows on the shed to help keep costs down.  His crew of Jonathan and Dave were professional and friendly, very hard workers.  We had frequent discussions to be kept up to speed on the work being and the progress of the job.  A separate crew did the roof which took only two days, although the second day ended at about 8:30.  The overall job took about five weeks.  A great deal of attention to detail was paid to the installation process.  The siding was applied on top of the existing siding.  A lot of time was spent on building out the windows so they would not be recessed.  Many other details that are not seen were attended to that I believe some other companies would skip.  Our original contract was for 40K but we had an additional $700 overrun.  This was for the replacement of a large amount of rotten wood beyond the amount agreed to upfront.  We have had several compliments from our neighbors and are delighted with the appearance.  We have several improvements immediately.  The house is quieter, the temperature throughout the house is much more even and the ac runs less often.  Even when you go from downstairs to upstairs the temperature is constant and it no longer feels as stuffy upstairs.  This is in part due to the venting in the roof.  All in all we highly recommend considering American Siding Inc."

"We have been in our home since 2004. As any homeowner knows, repairs and remodels are part of owning a home. We had a leak coming from the tub in our second bathroom, which dripped through a light in our kitchen. The leak is why chose to remodel now. We selected 4 companies from Home Advisor to interview and bid on the project. From the very beginning, we liked Next Home Remodel. Matt was a great listener, and his bid undercut the competition by several thousand dollars. We decided to do surround walls, which are easy to wipe and clean, in the shower and the the ceiling above the shower (pictures below - -sorry they uploaded sideways) plus replacing the tub and toilet along with repainting the other walls in the bathroom. We did wait 5 1/2 weeks to get on the schedule after deciding to go with Next Home, and the wrong faucet was ordered (one for a shower only). Other than this minor issue, the only other thing was that Behr paint was used on the walls. A friend who does professional painting had recommended Benjamin Moore Aqua Bath and Spa. I probably should have clarified if I could substitute paint. We used a flooring with AquaGuard which looks as fabulous as any flooring I've seen, and as the rest of the story will tell you, is absolutely waterproof! If I could give our installers, Dave and Chris, 20 stars, I would. Dave, who did the drywalling, is a consummate professional who was conscientious and attentive. They do not get paid by the hour, but by the job. They have an interest, therefore, in doing things right and in a timely fashion. Our old tub required a saw to cut through it so that they could get it out! These guys worked tirelessly, but also cleaned up immaculately when they left for the day. If they left tools or part of the rubbish inside their trailer in the yard (which they did remove by the end of the job), we were asked for our consent. In addition, Dave worked hard to make sure our ceiling in the kitchen looked as great as the bathroom that we completely remodeled. After the install, we had a couple of problems. First, the temperature valve on the tub faucet wasn't opened all the way. With an email to Matt, Dave came out that same day and fixed the issue. Second, the flow of the water came out slowly. I didn't even think to check the water valves into the tub were open all the way, but again one email and Dave resolved the problem immediately. The new tub has a push-to-close drain, but not having one of these before, we had issues closing the tub. Via email, Matt was able to explain how this worked. Finally, we had an issue with water backing up out of the front base of the toilet and leaking into the kitchen (not in the same place as before). Our first thought was not that the installers had done something wrong, but we called Next Home anyway. We thought perhaps a faulty seal was to blame. After another email to Matt, Dave came out again and figured out a clog from the master bath caused a coupling on a drain pipe, which was situated crooked (and looks to have been installed that way), to leak. While frustrating to have this issue occur only 10 days after the remodel, Next Home came immediately and helped us discover the issue. Both Matt and Dave stated their desire is to continue to help and serve us. These guys are honest, fair, and knowledgeable. We plan to have them remodel our kitchen in the not too distant future. We would use them again and recommend the company to anyone looking for a fair price with a company that knows what service after the sale means."

"His crew and crew leader were very attentive to details and my questions.   Since we have pets, I asked them to double check the ground around the house before they left each day for any items that could be ingested or would hurt their paws if stepped on and all six of the crew went around the house a second time double checking for me.   The final result is a gorgeous, well-installed
roof that will last for decades!    I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for a roof repair or replacement.
