"They were great, came out to fix the problem next day. Checked that everything was working before they left for the day. Slight leak on toilet, came out to fix it. Very friendly and professional. "

"After reviewing a number of reviews, I decided to call Steve's Brougher's Plumbing and I am glad I did. Their office staff was very responsible and professional. They were able to set up an appointment for my renter the next day. According to my renter, their plumbers showed up on time and did an terrific job. I will not hesitate to call them again."

"Jon Betak was very professional and caring, as well as knowledgeable about the problem we were facing ? a clogged bathtub spout with just a trickle of water coming through. With only days away from closing, I had to get this problem taken care of for my clients. Another (well-known) company, after already charging my clients hundreds of dollars to clean the spout (unsuccessfully), wanted to break through the wall and replace the valve and several pipes. It would have cost over $1,000, not even taking into account <br /> the cost of replacing the tile. It wasn't something they would do, so we would have to hire someone separate to finish the job. Not only costly, but all the unnecessary work would have delayed the closing. <br /> Jon knew right away what the problem was, over the phone! He came over and fixed the problem within a few minutes, charging my clients a minimal amount, compared to the other company. We were all very pleased and were able to close on time. As a Realtor, I will always call him for any plumbing issues with my clients. As a homeowner, I will always use his services and refer him to friends <br /> and clients. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Monday evening our dog chewed on a faucet at the back of our house and caused the faucet to break off at the pipe.  We are on a rainwater tank system, and had to turn off water to our house to keep from draining the tanks.  We called Touchstone at 8AM the following morning and they had someone at our house and had the broken pipe repaired and the faucet replaced, by 10AM. <br />"

"The compressor on my 14 year old system failed. I considered replacing just the outdoor unit but after reviewing the pro’s and con’s decided to replace both the gas fired furnace and the AC system. I ended up purchasing the mid-line Lennox system. Brandon was very helpful in choosing the system and it was installed very quickly. My last system was very quiet and son was surprised that this one is even quieter. After a couple days o cooling I am very pleased with how well it works and how even the house temperature feels."

"After reviewing the options, I decided on TDT and relining of my pipes with epoxy. I was out of town during the process -- 3 days without water -- and arrived home the last day. The foreman of the crew and I talked every day of the job. They did a great job and obviously great care of my house. They cleaned up after the work was complete and there have been no leaks. Best of all, the water is more pure and clear than I have ever seen in any house I've lived in."

"I've had them quite a few times for different problems. They were great. They always come out the day that you call. I've never had an issue where they can't come that day or can't come for 3 days. They're very professional. They work very hard to make sure it's done right. The guys snaked the pipe several times until they got everything working right. They should hire them. They're just more expensive than others but they actually come out and get the job done."

"The service of the clogged pipe went fair. The service was done. I would not call them back due to the fact that there was no safety gear on the staff members. No shoe covers, no masks, or gloves. The staff members did not try to keep a safe distance when speaking. The date of the requested service was in late April in the midst of the COVID 19. The company did not take the steps to protect their employees or customers. I've sent an email with my concerns to Texas APS and did not hear back from them. I had to reach out to a third party to have Texas APS email me back, to only receive a one-sentence apology. Service was fine customer service and safety is poor."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Elgin, TX

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
