"I contacted Unique Indoor Comfort, among others, to obtain a proposal for replacement of my furnace and air conditioning system. Unique took measurements off all the rooms (for sizing calculations), answered all my questions, and provided me with a written proposal with several system options ranging in cost. Some other contractors that had estimated this job had failed to either take measurements or provide a detailed written proposal. Although Unique did not have the cheapest proposal for this work, I felt most comfortable choosing Unique for the job because of their professional approach to the work, their ability to answer my questions, and their well-detailed proposal. The installation took one day. The contractors wore booties and put down cloths to keep my carpet clean when moving equipment. The installation went well, and I was satisfied with the quality of the work. The only issue I had was that the installation team forgot to install an upgraded piece of duct work. This duct piece only affected the efficiency of the system, not the operation, but it was included in the contract and touted by Unique as a benefit of their installation. After I noticed this and contacted Unique, they apologized and sent someone to install the upgrade within a few days. Overall, I am very satisfied with the system and the installation."

"I waited so long to submit this review because I wanted to see if we really were going to save any money. Our summer electric bills have dropped to a third of what they were last year. We may never fully recover the full replacement cost but getting a PECO bill for $175.00 versus $576.00 (August) is great and that is a positive for the enviornment!
I no longerhave all the specs on the old oil burner but with the new system (3 zones vs. 2) we are using 50% less fuel oil. I can't track the savings due to warmer temperatures but the new unit runs a lot less than the old Columbia.

"We purchased The Big Deal which was a whole-house humidifier installed for $349.99 (normally over $800).  This was our first ever purchase through Angie's List, so we were a bit apprehensive, but it seemed like a great deal, and we were just talking about getting one installed.  So, it seemed perfect.
We were not disappointed.  The provider showed up on time and installed the product as promised.  It was an Aprilaire humidifier, which is a good brand also.  He then showed me how everything worked, and said I can call him at any time in the future with questions.

"Kevin came out for us on Christmas Eve morning, taking time from his holiday. We'd just finally had our new washer installed, with clothes piling up, when the dryer went on the fritz. Kevin did an outstanding job, replacing the dryer vent to the wall, and repairing a disconnected outlet vent in the basement. "AC was installed by another company listed on Angie's in 2014. Without a maintenance agreement, they charged $89+tax just to come out and check the system. I was then told that the coil needed to be acid washed at a cost of an additional $207+tax. I thought this a bit much for a system that was not that old. Herring's had an offer on Angie's for $84.55 for a 20-point Tune-up including cleaning the coil. Andrew from Herring's checked out the system in the attic and the outside unit and found that the amount of coolant in the system was not what the manufacturer specified. He added two pounds and only charged for one pound @$80, in addition to the $89. He said the coil did not need cleaning. He also suggested we try using a thinner filter in the return vent to see if that helps. A friend has since told me that $80 per pound for coolant is steep, but since he gave one pound free it worked out about right. The AC seemed to be working much better, but the weather cooled down and we have not had 90+ degree days since then, In fact, it has been off for two days of cool weather. I will see how it does when we get another hot spell."
