"Robb & Geff were exceptionally knowledgeable. I had a Right of Way sink hole due to clay tile breakage by tree roots. Repair required careful digging between the curb and sidewalk to repair the collapse with PVC and ferncos. Their work with the digging machine was like a surgeon with a knife - not one chip out of the sidewalk, curb or driveway! They arrived on time, completed the work as outlined, obtaining all permits from the city. This team was professional, friendly, courteous, and the price quoted is what I paid even though they had to dig 5 extra feet - now that's going above and beyond! Anyone needing sewer work needs to have them on speed dial for ever thing dealing with drains or mains!"

"Andre’ replaced the worn out fixture in my main toilet that was causing the water to run non stop. He removed the 35+ year old basement toilet and replaced with a new one and balanced it. He did an excellent job. Both toilets run well. He also cleaned up after he was done."

"Bill and his team are good communicators, set realistic expectations, and keep the customer informed. I called 6 plumbers & excavators before finding All Drains LLC. Two others set appointments but did not show, the others just did not respond at all. Bill called within minutes of my online request, came early the next morning, explained clearly what the main sewer line problem was and what it would take to fix it. The line was 13 feet deep and about 30 feet long that needed replacing. Yes, that is a big hole. Bill had the team to do the job. It was repaired correctly, at a fair price, and with a lifetime warranty. Very happy!"

"Matthew installed an RO water system in our house for us. He also installed a rain shower in our master bathroom. He has been the only person I've trusted with all of my plumbing needs. He's incredibly professional, and efficient. It is clear he is the best in his field, and I would highly recommend him for all of your future plumbing needs! Thank you for everything Matthew!"

"I went to Angi around 1:00 PM to have a new kitchen faucet installed. Exquisite Home Improvement contacted me within 15 minutes and the faucet was installed by 5:30 PM. The installer was prompt, respectful, and professional. Their fee was less than I expected and I will use them again if the need arises. I highly recommend. "

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Livonia, MI

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
