"My home is 21 years old and the HVAC systems were struggling, so it was time to replace the attic unit which served the 2nd story and the HVAC unit in the basement, which served the finished part of the basement and the first floor. The heating and cooing had been terribly uneven in the finished basement and the first floor, so adding a zoned system was very important to us. Maynor gave a competitive quote, but what set them apart from the other quotes was their attention to detail. Norm and his colleague came out twice to measure and make sure the zoning could be done, because space was tight to re-run ductwork, and they likely would have to cut through sheetrock to get things done. They took time to spec out the features in the HVAC systems that they knew were needed to meet our requirements. The installation crew was Rob and Austen, and these guys were total professionals. I've never had a team work on a major home project that was so professional in every way. They were extremely communicative, calling as they left their shop to tell me when to expect them, going out of their way to describe what was coming next, what the timing might be, etc., etc. Their work was of high quality, and the installed systems were neatly put into place. Their attention to detail (and new building codes) was superb. Since a good part of the installation was going through a workshop, and would be taking up more space than the previous HVAC system, Rob and Austen we proactive in telling me where new components might need to be located, giving me options, and respecting my preferences. They went out of their way to minimize the sheetrock that needed to be disturbed, making the job more difficult for them, but meeting our needs completely. Best of all, the new HVAC systems are working beautifully and have given us what we've been looking for -- a solution that heats and cools both the first floor and the lower floor very evenly. Maynor's professionalism was also evident in all our communications with Christy at the home office, dealing with billing, registering the system and applying for rebates from the power company. Maynor really has it's act together and their team goes out if its way to make sure the customer gets the right equipment, installed with the highest level of professionalism."

They did a great job from the original recommendation on the type of unit- a ducted split system- to a quick scheduling of the work- and lastly installing the system. Ryan, Dylan and John were great- very polite and professional and got the system and fully installed and running within the time frame promised. Would definitely use them again."

What they don't know is I know enough about these systems to know the cost of parts and how the system works. So when the "technician" shows up and says they don't know which of the 5 parts was a problem, I'm skeptical. I just don't want to fix everything myself anymore. Comfort Monster is different. "Alpine's sales rep, Bill Graves, came to the house several times to review the estimates he'd given me and to answer additional questions/concerns.  I signed the contract on Aug. 7th and the heat pump was installed on the 8th!!  Great service!  Due to additional work that needed to be done for the ductwork in the crawlspace, the service techs couldn't complete the returns that day but the air conditioning was up and running perfectly before they left that day.  The service techs had to return on the 12th to complete the installation of the new returns but that was completed within a couple of hours.

"My a/c wasn't blowing cold air and Jonathan was able to come out within hours of my call. He quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem (failed blower motor and capacitor) and assured me that it would be fixed the same day. Once he found the part he quoted me a fair price and after the work was done, he charged exactly what he had quoted me. He did not once try to sell me a new unit or a maintenance contract or any of those things the big companies often do. If, like me, you are truly just wanting your existing HVAC unit repaired without having to worry about somebody giving you the hard sell, this is your man. He was very professional about diagnosing and recommended resolution. I was very satisfied with the quality of work done. "The technician said he didn't think that additional boxes were needed; that the fans were fairly light. When he installed one, it wasn't tightly mounted, and wobbled when the fan was on. He said the added box would be, if I recall correctly, over $100 more. I opted for one on a frequently-used fan, but not on the other. It is still loose. I felt like the communications on the sturdiness and price of the installation were not clear between the technician and me. Perhaps that was because the company did not offer a free estimate of the costs (however, if I went ahead with using them, the cost of the estimate would be applied to the final bill). I subsequently called the office, shared my thoughts with the receptionist, asked that she pass those on, but received no follow-up."
