"Matt and Mike replaced our old barrel type humidifier that wasn't working and replaced it with the Aprilaire fan in humidifier, ran a new water line, electric and rerouted the condensation line to the sump pump. They also upgraded the thermostat and relay panel to be able to control the humidity from t-stat. Everything is running perfectly with home humidity at 46%. Also purchased the elite yearly service plan."

"I had Nick come out to our place and assess a noise issue and diagnose why my heat pump was running constantly. Within an hour he told me what the issue was. Apparently during a storm a branch fell on the outside unit damaging the fan and a coil or something. He showed me the damage and was very open about my options. Considering it was an older unitâ ¦ we decided for a full replacement. He called me later that night and asked for a good install date. We were very happy with the outcome and the professionalism throughout the process. Thank you again Instan Services"

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in Franklinville, NJ

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
