"Two technicians took a look at the problem and recommended I contact the Condo Association management. Also it was a type of pipe that they no longer worked on. I appreciate that they pointed me in the right direction and did not charge me for service call."

"I'm having a dishwasher replaced and Lowe's installer wouldn't relocated the water line. Budget Plumbing was able to come out the next day, where other plumbers haven't responded to my call. He was neat, quick, professional, well-spoken and knew exactly what was needed. Price was reasonable. I would use them again!"

"He came in the trailer to the hot water heater. Looked at it and said we need a new heater, because it was a 2001. Our floor was <br /> tilted and pipes were elbowed.  He gave us a quote for a new heater by itself, also a quote to fix our floor and new heater. He put new screws on the water heater lid. He was here for a half an hour. We looked at our quotes and decided to fix it ourselves. <br />"

"I could NOT recommend McDonald plumbing more.  The city came to shut off the water (with out any kind of notice as city's do) because of a complaint of too much water on the side walk.  The city assessed the issue and determined the pipe under the front yard had a leak. I called McDonald plumbing feeling rather urgent about things.  Scott was out to evaluate the issue that day.  He explained how he was going to fix it, check the amount of water in the yard the next day.  A little drying time was needed and we scheduled the work to be done. It took the team 4 hours and they didnt ruin the front yard, did not have to excavate the sidewalk thanks to a handy tool they use to minimize digging.  None of it was covered under my home owners policy.  It was all out of pocket expense and they knew just how to minimize my costs as well.  Four hours after they started work, I went to check on their progress, they had already had the city out to inspect and the water was back on and they were finished!  AMAZING!!!  Scott and his team are true life savers!"

"Jason replied to my initial inquiry very quickly, and was able to stop by 2 days later.  Our water heater pilot light had been randomly going out, frequently enough to be a significant inconvenience.  He looked it over, describing the possible problems, and replaced the thermocouple.  The heater is 15 years old, so if the new thermocouple doesn't fix it, we will call him back to replace the unit. <br /> He also inspected our gas furnace, which hadn't been keeping up with the thermostat on these last few below 0 degree nights.  I hadn't thought to check the filter, since I had just replaced it last month.  Of course, that is the first thing Jason checked, and it was full of dust from our recent basement remodel.  Fortunately, I had a spare filter, which Jason switched in for me. <br /> I will definitely be calling Jason for any future HVAC needs. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Gowen, MI

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
