"I hired Derek and his colleague to wire up our new hot tub. He was excellent at communicating and providing an estimate before work was started. The quality of work he provided exceeded my expectations. Everything was done neatly, to code, and did not leave a mess at my house. A sprinkler line was damaged during trenching, since we didn't know it was there, and he made the repairs with no questions asked. I would definitely hire him or recommend for electrical work. A+"

"We needed 4 ceiling fans installed. I had no true knowledge of the process but thanks to Derek and his team I'm more informed. Derek was patient and gave me advisement based on the photos I sent. With the Pandemic, I was not sure when his team would be able to do the job, but I was in for a pleasant surprise. I called Wednesday and he scheduled for the following day. His team was on time and definitely went the extra mile. At these trying times, when everyone's patience is short, his team could not have been more professional and kind. They even checked on another issue that wasn't even on the books. Alan was thorough and determined to troubleshoot. Its so hard to find good customer service but his team was exceptional. I was so pleased with the job, I was disappointed to hear that they don't offer other services besides electric. Sweetwater will be my goto for all my electrical needs. If you want your job done right, call Derek and his team. I promise you will not be disappointed. Thank you again to Derek and his team."

"I needed an electrician to fix a number of problems around our house and didn't know anyone, so I looked on Angie's List. After looking at a number of possible companies near me, I decided to call Phase 2 Electric LLC, because they were close to home, received excellent ratings by past customers, are state licensed, and insured. When I called in the morning, my call was answered by the owner, Curtis Reames, personally. Since Mr. Reames was working in the area, he said that he could come over that afternoon and would call before he came. I never dreamed that I could get a master electrician in that quickly.
True to his word, Mr. Reames called about a half an hour before coming and showed up within the timeframe given. He went right to work on repairing our ceiling fan and light combination. The fan worked, but only one of the four light sockets was working. Instead of suggesting that we would need a new ceiling fan unit as I had feared, Mr. Reames was able to remove the lighting
section, diagnose the problem, and said that if the parts were still available, he could fix the unit. That was very important to me, because we had had to special order the cherry wood blades to match our bedroom furniture when we built our house 21 years ago. I didn't want to have to special order new blades, especially since the fan still worked.
Next we moved on to our over the mirror bathroom lighting which hadn't been working for a few weeks. Mr. Reames was able to determine that the switch and the fixture were working correctly, but the halogen light in one socket was loose and another had a burned out bulb that we had just replaced recently. I found out that the bulb's life was probably shortened considerably because we had touched the bulb with our fingers when we installed the new light bulb. A real no no when dealing with halogen light bulbs. Mr. Reames said that he could pick up a replacement bulb when he got the parts for the ceiling fan which would save me a trip to get one.
When we looked at our kitchen light over the table, Mr. Reames was able to determine that the switch was working properly and the socket had electricity flowing to it, but it still wasn't working correctly. He noticed that the tab inside the socket was pushed down and proceeded to fix that. As it turned out, we have a short in the fixture and need a new light fixture.
Mr. Reames than scoped out the electrical box, and based on the location of the meter, laid out a plan for a future generator. He also told me what size generator we would need in order to do what we want. That was really helpful, because I know nothing about generators except that it can be very dangerous to hook them up and again when the electricity was turned back on. He'll come back and install the generator once we pick it up.
Lastly, we moved out to the garage and the exterior of the house. A number of our electrical sockets were not working and needed to be replaced. Mr. Reames then left to get the supplies that he would need to fix the ceiling fan lights, the light bulbs which we needed, and the new GFI sockets. He returned quickly with all of the parts (and some lighting books that I could
use to locate a new light fixture for the kitchen) and went right to work to get everything done. There was a problem with one of the new sockets he had gotten and it wouldn't work. Having a number of supplies which he carries in his company truck, Mr. Reames was able to supply another socket and got it working. In fact, he stayed until almost 7:00 p.m. to get everything done before he left.
I would highly recommend Mr. Reames and Phase 2 Electric LLC to anyone who needs electrical work done. He is very easy to work with, knowledgeable, and made sure that everything was cleaned up before he left. He even helped me move a piece of furniture back where it belonged that I had had to move so he could do his work. Once we have our new light fixture and generator, Mr. Reames will be coming back to install them.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

FAQs for attic or whole house fan installation projects in Grand Blanc, MI

Installing an attic fan lowers attic temperatures and reduces moisture, protecting stored items and extending the life of roofing materials. It also prevents mold, mildew, and paint deterioration, enhancing energy efficiency and comfort in the home. This type of protection helps you avoid costly repairs in the future and maintains the integrity of your home.

Installing an attic fan may require multiple professionals. A roofing specialist or carpenter can create the vent and mount the fan securely, while a licensed electrician connects the system to the home's electrical supply. A dedicated attic fan installer may be able to tackle all of these areas themselves, so be sure to confirm what services they can provide. Hiring qualified professionals ensures the installation is safe and the attic fan operates reliably.

The lifespan of an attic fan depends on the type and how well it is maintained. Passive attic fans can last 40 to 50 years, while electric and solar models typically last 10 to 15 years. Regular cleaning and maintenance help ensure the fan operates reliably and safely. Ask your installation pro for their recommendations for ongoing maintenance and service to help your attic fan last for as long as possible.
