"We thought we needed foundation work. They not only told us that was incorrect. They directed us to a structural engineer who would be able to help us. No charge. Most appreciated."

"All worked out to plan. With one pice being rejected by the installers due to a poor color match at the seam. This piece was recut and installed two days later and exhibited a perfect match. While we were very happy with the installation. It wasn't until the 2014 Home Show Expo featuring 1/2-1 million dollar homes that we realized that our counters only had one seam that was matched perfectly. Fewer cuts with perfectly matching seam in my eyes makes Bertini a superior provider,. Please pass along to all staff involved how much we appreciate their craftsmanship! <br />"

"Gil and his crew are as good as it gets. You will get top notch quality at a reasonable price. They pay attention to the details from doing the work to clean up. This is one of the few contractors that I can be away from the job site and never worry about the work. He does all my work."

"Had him come out to my house to check my new house's chimney and fireplace. He was very professional and helped us out with information on never owning a fireplace. Placed protective gear around the fireplace so nothing would get dirty. He checked everything including the mortar around the fireplace. He showed us how the blower works and what to expect when using certain woods and fire-starters. He was very personable and friendly. Would use their services again.  <br />"

"1. Decided not to go through with this work. As products I was advised to order by contractor were out of stock and decided to do the work with a friend. 2. Looks good! 3. Floors look great; subcontracted out. Should've had couple items clearly written out before work began but happy with the work completed. Dispose of all trash/scrapes myself. I wouldn't hire again due to a couple issues but work completed was an A."

"We needed some siding work done quickly and on budget.  Kevin Jepson filled the bill.  He came out right away, gave us a "right-on" quote and finished the job early.  The work done along with his attention to detail are beyond compare.   Kevin is a true craftsman with a great personality and work ethic.  We are very pleased with the result and would recommend Jepson Enterprises to anyone needing carpentry, remodeling, construction work or finishing.  Superior work."

"Everything about EJS Roofing was fantastic.  The cost was where I didn't cry, they answered all my questions and some of those question were silly.  They came in the morning and were done by end of day.  We had a very dry summer so I waited until a good rain to see that after years of battle, I had no leaks None.  Beautiful roof and garage roof.  Very friendly.people. They also did a great job cleaning up, Not a nail or a tiny pieace of shingle to be found.  I have given a number of people I know EJS's name.. <br />"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Granger, IA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
