"It was a rainy weekend…We had rapid leaking from the pipes in our basement ceiling (discovered over the weekend). We had called or regular company and other plumbers/services and all “took a message” or flat out said they were not available. Sunday morning I decided to try one more time. Rob answered the phone himself and offered to come over later in the day. He called back to let me know the exact time of his arrival. I didn’t know the source of the water so we weren’t doing laundry or dishes. Rob arrived and quickly located the source of the water and repaired the problem. We were expecting to pay $$$ because it was a Sunday emergency call. The price was quite reasonable but he gave us a discount on the full service price because he only needed to perform a part of that service…we now have a new friend and a new plumber. Great guy, great service and definitely a great price. *My husband was very impressed that he answered the phone himself."

"Review- 17 Jan 2020 Greetings. I am a new customer and I recently had my heating and air conditioning replaced by 4 Seasons. The initial inspection (done by Juan) indicated that our heat exchanged was burnt out and I was advised to have the unit replaced. We moved forward with the finance company and qualified for a loan to have a new heating and cooling system put in place. I was surprised to learn that the installation was going to be done that same day. The techs (Ronald and Fernando) were very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough in their craftmanship. They explained how the new system would work and showed me where the new gas line and shut off valve were located and also advised me on my water heater pilot light and how to relight the water heater if I ever needed too. The last tech (Randy) showed up to complete an inspection of the work the installation techs completed. He indicated they completed the work without any concerns and was very helpful in answering my questions and concerns and advised me of the warranty and how important it was keeping the system clean each year to keep the warranty valid and in place for the next five years. Overall, I am happy and relieved that our system is in place and will recommend Four Seasons to my neighbors. Regards Stephen & Julie"

"Danny D, Jerry, and Adam, y’all are stuck with me as a client lol. They provided excellent service, funny, kind, accommodating and explained all that they were doing and all of our goals in maintaining my plumbing. They went above and beyond and I know in the future this is my go to team for our plumbing needs. They showed up last year and this year and just taught me so much in maintaining my home system and their expertise!!!"

FAQs for water main install, replace or repair projects in Great Lakes, IL

If you notice puddles or standing water in your yard, a sudden drop in water pressure, cracks forming in your foundation, frequent clogs in your plumbing fixtures, or water that looks or smells unusual, you might have a leak in your main water line. These signs mean it's time to call a professional to evaluate the issue and prevent further damage.

A professional water main inspection is a comprehensive evaluation performed by a licensed plumber who checks every section of your plumbing system. The inspection costs $165 and uses advanced diagnostic techniques to identify hidden leaks or wear. This service clarifies the exact condition of your water main, enabling precise repairs that prevent future damage and ensure the overall health of your plumbing system.

Protect your water main by scheduling a cleaning and inspection every two to five years. The average cost of a sewer line cleaning is $400. It’s also important to never dig in your yard without first calling the dig line (811) to ensure you don't accidentally hit the water or sewer lines. Watch for soil erosion, low water pressure, or wet spots in your yard, and take immediate action if you suspect a leak. Remember, the longer you leave it, the worse the problem gets and the more costly it is to fix.

When properly maintained, your water main is engineered to remain functional for 50 years or longer. A durable water service in excellent condition should consistently perform without major issues for half a century. In contrast, metal pipes exposed to acidic soil corrode faster, whereas modern plastic pipes resist corrosion and function for decades beyond metal alternatives. Regular maintenance and inspections are essential for confirming your system’s longevity.

No, homeowners insurance does not cover the cost to repair a water main. Insurers fund only sudden, unforeseen events like a burst pipe and exclude gradual issues or normal wear and tear. Damage resulting from leaks, such as mold remediation or property claims, is not covered. It is essential to contact your insurance provider immediately to confirm your policy’s details and any potential adjustments needed.
