"On 1st unit, techs added a lot of freon and cleared the blocked drain line from the blower. The continuous running on the the second unit has been a recurring problem that had been treated prior as thermostat problem. The problem has always returned after thermostat replacement. The AAA tech is the first to examine the blower thoroughly and discover a bad module as the problem. Hopefully, this will be a lasting fix."

"As is usual with Rick, the work was first-class and very thoughtfully done. He consulted closely with me on details and was very open to suggestions. The finished job is just fine. This was, I think, the third job he has done for me. As is typical, particularly on an old house, it wound up costing more than he had estimated, but reasonable considering what was done.
A few things worth mentioning: Rick charges by the man-hour at a flat $30. You will want to make sure you have a clear understanding with him on whether he will bring a helper for a given job, because a $15 helper will still cost you $30, and you don't want him standing around.
As of this job, Rick had downsized his business to himself and one young helper, so availability can be a problem. Also, he has twice left the area for extended periods to work. The last time, I thought I was next in line with him once he recovered from a cold, and the next thing I knew he was in South Dakota for two weeks. I'm not sure what happened here, but at least I think he could have let me know.
I am hesitating a bit about using him again for some work this spring - at best, I'll be getting other bids.
