"Edwin is fantastic!! Our boiler stopped working in the middle of the night. We called E&G at 9 am and they were here to repair the furnace by 11am the same day. Ed was meticulous and professional with reasonable rates. This was our first time using E&G and we very excited to say we found our new â Furnace Guyâ ."

"Kudos to Joe F. with Benjamin Franklin for completing a major drain line rerouting that more than likely has been the source of long standing issues. He explained each step in the process for the intial estimate and during the work and provided thoughtful analysis for future projects I'm considering. After the work was completed one of my water lines begin to leak and I had both lines replaced during the same visit. I really appreciate the quality workmanship and respect for my home Joe showed and will include Benjamin Franklin in estimates for future projects. "

"Absolutely horrible experience, the installers did a terrible job, they made a mess of the house, took things from drawers, we were missing medication, jewelry, I even lost my ski suit! Don’t hire these people whatever you do, worst mistake ever! Also, the owner who was a fairly miserable gentleman kept hitting on my wife and touching her shoulder. It made her very uncomfortable! Beware, hide your valuables, make sure your children are safe, then go ahead and hire them."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Herndon, PA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
