Emergency services offered

"kitchen sink -  ended up requiring new basket and copper piping as standard plastic connection kits would not seal properly with basket threading - took several hours with the use of numerous plastic drain connection kits and ultimately supply house visit and copper piping installation
tub - installed new trap & drainpipe connecting to main drainage pipe
Shower - fixed leak by removing mineral buildup inside hardware
   * Over a month later the same shower would not turn off..no warning, no leaks, just wouldn't turn off one Sunday even though handled turned fully.   Jim Roth Plumbing was contacted (on a Sunday) and a message was left, they quickly called back and had a plumber on site within a few hours.  Plumber replaced the shower valve mechanism.  This was addressed for no additional charge.
   * The ratings above were updated reflecting the additional on site (weekend) visit.

"Jim was professional and an expert in figuring out what was faulty. He identified that we needed to replace the gas valve and not only installed a new one but also restored the embers as well. We are thrilled, and we and our landlord will recommend Jim to anyone needing fireplace installation or repairs. Jim was also very respectful and punctual. Jim was also incredibly courteous and generous with his time especially because we have a cancer patient in our apartment. Thank you Jim!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Highland Lakes, NJ

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
