"We are trying to find somebody to put a pool in. We called the one that Angie's List recommended and it is called Dig-M-Installers. I went to get the pool and the pool wasn't there. They didn't have the pool's parts. The other company is guaranteeing me that they will have it by the time Dig-M-Installers has scheduled the appointment. We got the quote from Dig-M-Installers. We got the paper work and everything from Dig-M-Installers. My wife got them from Angie's List. Their normal quote is 1029 dollars. I am getting a discount because it is before some date. I am getting it for 928. They are knocking off a 100 dollars. It was the only one on Angie's List and when we went on the phone book a lot of them sounded shaky. We took for granted that the one that Angie's List has was very good. The people that I came in contact with were very kind and very courteous. I saw an older man but to me they are all young as I am 70 years old. He was in his 40s and he was very nice. He was explaining to me how they would like to put it in, where they would like to put it, which would be the best situation where it won't cost me more money to have it done. They are very nice and clean. So far it is real good. They were very professional. Considering responsiveness, they were right back, right away. With this one man so far, it was very professional. I am waiting for them to install a pool and that is the next situation. I will know better once they install a pool."

"Called about leak Sunday morning. Plumber came out Monday, determined it needed replacement and notified Choice, who approved claim and permitted plumber to order new water heater. Thursday new water heater was installed. Was kept updated every day by both Choice and the plumber. Workers left my garage clean and I have hot water. Very satisfied and have recommended Choice Home Warranty on the Nextdoor app."

"Originally contacted Sam and Sons Services from ad in yellow pages to fix bath tub faucet mechanism that did not allow water to fully come out of faucent, only shower head.  S&S tech said I had to replace the whole faucet and he could not replace just the mechanism.  Hhhmm.  (Ding). The color I had was bronze; he only had chrome.  Hhhhmmm.   (Ding).   S&S charged $302 for just the bath tub faucet part.  Hhhhmmm.   (Ding).  Online research afterward revealed that full bath tub faucet, handles, and shower heads run between $100-$467.  The model S&S sold me was towards the lower end $150, which was fine but I would have liked to be charged that without mark up and pay for the straight labor.  Moreoever, S&S only gave me the tub faucet when the price suggested I paid for shower head and handle too.  Hhhmmm. (Ding).   Tech was very courteous and professional: he identified an out of code bath tub pipe that was plastic that should have been copper.  He replaced and cut me a break with half-price labor, which I liked but kind of confused me with I got jipped on the tub faucet part.  He gave me very clear explanations of how to monitor plumbing pipes for tub that are plastic (hot and cold water from main copper pipe that he replaced).  His tightening of the kitchen sink faucet was flawless.  Bottom-line: didn't like the mark up on parts that corporate office forced on tech (he presented a notebook with corp office's prices).  Unlikely that I will use again, which disappointed me because S&S seems to do various work (electrical, plumbing, handyman work, etc) and I was hoping to find a one-stop shop for my home maintenance needs."

"The overall job went really well. Hector's guys were able to do remove and install a heavy cast iron tub in around three days.  They resolved some minor complications that I expected would arise in a 1920s era bathroom.  They then installed a new shower handle and fixed the tile surrounding the tile.  Overall, the job was well done and at a reasonable price.  I estimated the price of labor so you can compare apples to apples since I paid a price that included the tub and other materials. I gave a B on responsiveness only because it was hard to initially get in touch and schedule the initial appointment, which included a missed appointment.  Otherwise, Hector is very responsive by email. I would recommend Hector and his crew to anyone doing home renovations.

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"It took 6 weeks to get the appt after buying the "deal". I asked on the phone if it would be a good idea to remove old caulk around tub ahead of time ( so cleaning could cover all tile surface) . I was told it would, so I removed caulk. A miscommunication I suppose. Upon arrival it was explained that they use a pressure washer. Not only would tub surround need to be caulked but the perimeter of the room where tile surface meets floor would need caulk too. Options were to caulk myself and re-book appt. , sign a waiver accepting any water damage, or pay $125 to caulk and they could finish the job all at once. I decided to let them caulk. They didn't have the materials or tools to caulk so one went to Home Depot while one started cleaning. I was told the cleaning chemicals in the caulk gap didn't need to dry before caulking, hope that's true!  Anyway, not a great start, but okay.
I hoped the finish product would have been better but that was just okay too.  Grout color didn't really look much different after the cleaning. Fat bright white caulk line up the wall of the tub surround (that was previously grouted) looked terrible against the gray tile. I spoke up and he said he'd remove it and replace it with clear caulk. Unfortunately that didn't work out so one tub wall has white and one has clear caulk. Also some floors are white and some are clear.  Toilet got caulked too and I wish it hadn't because we are replacing it soon. Sealant that was wiped over grout left clear schwissy haze marks all over the tile. I had to wipe off EVERY single tile to remove the haze. Caulk residue on tub needs to be scraped off. A little mud on floors and tub was left behind. Really nice people but end result did not meet my expectations."

"The job was done in an excellent, professional manner. Before starting, we discussed with the company owner options about finish, grading and how to conceal 4-5 trash bins at the top of the driveway. Throughout this initial discussion, Mr. Pires was patient, gave us a number of options to consider and explained in detail how his crew would carry out the project and clean up afterwards. On the day of the installation, Mr. Pires and his the crew arrived on time and carried out the installation in a smooth and unruffled manner. They spent a lot of time on preparation of the new base for the concrete and on carefully spreading and grading the poured concrete. I was particularly impressed with the fact that Mr. Pires was present for much of the duration of the project, with the focus on cleaning up after the job and the attention to detail, such as on the replanting of the grass on the side of the new driveway. My wife and I, as well as our neighbors, were impressed with how the new driveway looked and we would be happy to recommend Mr. Pires's firm to others. We certainly plan to use him for any future projects."
