"I found On Time Elmer by searching Angie’s list after I had to fire another HVAC company for gross negligence in maintaining our system and poor customer service.    On Time Elmer was able to schedule me for a tune up within 24 hours of my call to them to inquire about their platinum maintenance plan.  Their technician showed up to our house and proceeded with his inspection to verify if our unit would qualify for their platinum service.  About 30 minutes into his inspection he calls me upstairs to the closet which houses the A Coil and blower.  Freon leakage everywhere and the A coil was over 2/3 rotten with a bunch of dirt and debris caked in despite having changed the filter the 1st of every month and a premium service plan with our previous HVAC company.  Come to find out that the compressor outside was nearly shot too.   All this was making sense as our house was not as cool as I thought it should be and the wife and I went to bed each night asking “is it warm in here”?    Jason the technician took time to explain our options (a total of four of them) ranging from doing nothing to a just replacing the A coil to a complete new install.  He took the time to explain the pros and cons of each.  The nearly dead unit was only five years old and was installed when the house was built, but was rated a R12 which is not manufactured anymore and if you do find Freon for it, it is rather expensive.  Seriously, Jason probably spent an hour and half with me walking through everything, answering all my questions and taking the time to make sure I understood all the options, pros & cons.   Ultimately my wife and I decided to replace the outside heat pump, the A coil and add in a new filter grill.  We spent a lot more money on the 12th of July than we were anticipating (again, we were anticipating a simple summer tune up and inspection with our new provider, On Time Elmer) but our house is now nice and cool and the outside unit hardly runs compared to how much our previous unit was running.    What shocked me even more was that On Time Elmer had a crew finishing up another install and they paid their employees overtime to install our new unit the same evening.  I was talking to one of the installers as they were finishing the job at our house and I was asking them about how good of an employer On Time Elmer is.  I was amazed at their responses … these two installers had nothing but great things to say about the company ranging from their pay, benefits and the fact that even during the slow winter season On Time Elmer keeps all his employees on as full time … something that is almost never heard of down here in San Antonio.    We also signed up for their Platinum level service plan (a similar plan we had with the previous HVAC provider) as the wife and I both work from home and having a reliable and running cooling system is of utmost importance to us.   So far my experiences with On Time Elmer have been fantastic.  I fully recommend On Time Elmer. "
