"I needed to either have my existing furnace repaired or replaced. My furnace I currently had was over 20 years old and had visible holes in it. I around for 4 estimates. Two companies were on holiday break. Two companies responded: McGinley and Sears.Bill McGinley came over within two days of my initial call to give estimates on repair/replace. Bill McGinley indicated that to repair would cost $1800 and to replace would run $2800. The estimate from Sears was more than double that of McGinley on the replacement and they said that they would not recommend repairing at all. Bill McGinley came by again to answer questions that we had regarding connections, etc. and answered everything to our satisfaction. We also gave him an AngiesList coupon and asked if the 10% indicated would be on the installation or equipment. Bill said that it would be applied against the entire bill! What a nice surprise! He immediately took off $280 and gave us a new estimate and said that he was available later that week to install. He arrived within the 30 minute window he had given us and pulled out the old furnace, replaced it with a new, energy-efficient unit and left the basement tidy and clean. I am thoroughly happy with the experience. Bill has assured us that should we have any questions about the unit once we need to use it, he'll be more than happy to come out to accommodate us. The entire process, from first call to installed unit took 9 days; 7 days from the estimate to the install. When I thought they would be here for most of the day, they removed the old unit, installed the new unit and cleaned up after themselves in under 3 hours!
I would definitely recommend this company and would use them again."

"The workers were professional, quick, and efficient. Had an issue with cleaning up the roof from leftover debris, but that was resolved when I complained about it. They provide great customer service. Price was great compared to big box stores."

"It worked out okay, except that I would have anticipated, the cost just gets more. They always find those things, so it starts at $99 and end up spending $300 or $400. People tell me they always find mold inside your air duct, so they have to put a chemical. They call it a total cleaning as opposed to the regular cleaning which I paid for. What they did seemed to have worked. I have suspicions about when they find other things. "

"The service was handy when my oil heat quit over a Saturday night. Many other potential responders were closed for Sunday, and it was important to find help for my emergency. Dale was prompt and professional. Due to his contacts, he was able to obtain the part we needed and finished the job with the one visit. I am very happy with the service and grateful for Dale's professionalism. Highly recommended!"

"Needed to replace my home a/c and GMR Mechanical visited my home quickly. We discussed the options and was quoted a price on the spot with the available installation dates. Their prices were reasonable so I hired the company for the A/C replacement. The work completed by GMR Mechanical was excellent, cleaned up and were very polite. I would hire again."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
