After turning the gas off and draining the tank, I called Seatown based on a referral from Puget Sound Energy and their solid reviews here on Angi. Scheduled the appointment over the phone. Communication was smooth & easy. Received a text 2 hrs before arrival and then 30 minutes out. It included a photo & short bio of the plumber which I thought was a nice touch, both for safety reasons & ‘cause it’s nice to treat people like they’re not anonymous drones. Chris & apprentice Jeffrey arrived promptly. Gave me clear info on options & prices, I approved the bid and they set to work installing a new 50 gal, natural gas powered Bradford White tank storage water heater. I opted for the model with the 10 yr warranty rather than the 6. They were efficient, thorough and personable. Went above & beyond, re-routing a water line and repairing a janky exhaust vent that they thought the city inspector might not like. They even shop vaced the cobwebs from the space before installing the new tank, bless ‘em. Chris explained maintenance requirements, how to read the control panel & use emergency shut offs. Seatown takes care of city permits (my city requires one) which I appreciated. Work was begun around 11 & I had hot water by 3:30. Payment was due upon completion and I got a senior discount. Price was competitive with other companies’. They hauled away the old tank and all packing materials and left a very clean worksite. All in all, a good product, well delivered."

"1st response reached out with an e-mail and asked for specific information as well as pictures so they could come prepared. They were sent pictures and told that the current water heater needing replacement was a 48 gallon 52" water heater so we needed to go with a shorter, 50" model. When the installer arrived he had the tall skinny model. Despite sending them pictures and specifics it doesn't appear the installer was able to review that information because he arrived with a tall, skinny model which didn't fit. He provided information which did not completely match what the owner described but we quickly came to a price for the model we currently have and they rescheduled and did a great job with the install. All new lines, expansion tank, connectors, etc."

They were thorough, informative and professional and worked to get me the best possible deal when my failed water heater turned into discovering my 97 year old house needed the original pipes replaced. Had they not done a thorough inspection when coming out for the water heater I would have never known. They were in the condition they were in. They also did everything they could to keep any cuts into wall minimal to preserve the integrity of my original plaster walls, and as an old house lover, I really appreciated that. "I was referred to Apollo Plumbing by G&S Heating, Cooling and Electric when my 75 Gallon Hot Water Heater Failed. G&S originally installed the water heater when they installed my Geo-Thermal Heating system and I’ve always had nothing but praise for G&S. They are honest, ethical and fair in all their business dealings and the quality of the work has been impeccable. Due to some regulatory changes, G&S could not replace my 75 Gallon Water Heater, but instead referred me to Apollo. I called and was helped by Samara, who was extremely helpful in fitting me into the schedule. Zac the installer showed up to my home, a bit late, but I was happy that he had arrived and work could commence. Zac presented me with the estimate for the service and that’s where things took a turn for the worse. I had done some research on the pricing I should expect my new hot water heater to cost. The one that had failed was 12 years old and I could have had the same exact model delivered to my home for $1,100 dollars. Home Depot and Lowes stocked a similar model and would have delivered them to my home for about the same price. Zak delivered an estimate to me that totaled over $4,800.00, of which, $2,300 was for the water heater, about $1,200.00 more than I could have obtained a replacement. When I protested, I got an explanation that it was a specialty item, the only type of water heater Apollo will install and warrantee, and several other meaningless points in trying to justify the cost. Zac did apply a “coupon” reduction of $292.00, however, it didn’t make me feel any better about the situation. I was up against a time constraint of an overseas business trip and didn’t have the luxury of backing out of the appointment, so I reluctantly accepted the estimate. Zac did a good job of installing the new heater. I’m a small business owner and have been in business for 40 years. In that period, I have never had a customer complain about or question the price of any invoice I’ve submitted to them. I was clearly overcharged for the hot water heater. As such, I would recommend others getting competing estimates after they receive one from Apollo to make sure they are not being overcharged. I won’t use them again."
