"We needed our entire roof replaced. The group of installers did an outstanding job. They were so efficient and thorough in all aspects including an immaculate clean up of the property afterwards. The lead for the crew, and the project manager were so personable and communicative!! Our roof looks great and we would absolutely recommend them to anyone that needs roofing work done on their structure."

"Paul did an awesome job repairing my Victorian step cap chimneys. Communicated clearly, arrived when he said he would and left the job site clean. Price was very reasonable. I read the review from Mike O. and asked him about it. Apparently, there is another company with the same name in the Portland, Maine area and that review refers to that company. Will definately have him back to do more work on my stone foundation."

"Initial interaction to select styles/pattern was good. Initial installation was later than we had planned, delayed the project by a week, but workmanship for fabrication and installation done by StoneOne was very good. <br /> Unfortunately, after installation, we discovered that some of the material that was installed was not first quality and we asked to have it repaired. It took a few WEEKS just to get someone to come out and look at the problem, and the response was "oh, that's normal, have a good day". Many phone calls and emails and another few weeks later, the manufacturer's third party warranty service company and then manufacturer's rep came out to see the project. Both agreed that in fact the material did not meet their own quality standards and that there were too many defects to repair to bring it up to specs. It would have to be replaced, or they would refund a small part of the total cost as compensation for us to accept it as is. Complete replacement would have required removing and reinstalling cabinets, repairing trim, and plumbing and electrical work. Very long story short, we agreed to partial repair, partial replacement, and nominal financial compensation. Throughout this long process, StoneOne was surporidingly unresponsive, apparently uninterested is reaching a resolution; ultimately it was up to me to chase the manufacturer directly. Once an agreement was reached with the manufacturer, the repair guy from the warranty service company arrived within a week and was in and out in just 20 minutes. (Based on this experience, it was clear that everything could have been adequately resolved MUCH sooner and more easily, in a much less disruptive and less expensive way, and in less than 1 day.) It then took StoneOne several more weeks to complete their part of the settlement. Total time to resolution: Seven (7) MONTHS (not days nor weeks: months). While we were satisfied with the craftsmanship of the initial work done by StoneOne, responsiveness and service after the sale was extremely disappointing. <br />"

"We are 100% delighted with what we call our new "living area" and the work completed by Rotten Rock.  Our initial inquiry in the dead of winter was replied to the same day and a site visit almost immediately.  Henry from Rotten Rock listened to our ideas (a lot of the inspiration came from other work Rotten Rock highlighted on their Facebook page) and helped us see how a natural bluestone patio would fit into our rustic country setting.  The quote arrived promptly and we contracted the work, which began in earnest in the Spring of 2015.  The job lasted about 3 weeks and the team performing the work were prompt, courteous, hard working and always did what they could to clean up at the end of each day...we could see the progress because they did so.  They took any suggestions we had along the way (which weren't many) and answered all our questions.  They were accommodating of the other contractors - and even installed all the underground conduit for the electrician - and offered to help with the hot tub installation.  The attention to detail of the stone work is impressive and we are pleased to know that unlike the ugly old deck that we never used, we'll have an area that will last a lifetime (we have already spent more time in our backyard in the past two months than we did the previous 5 years we owned the house!).  We were away for part of the installation but was kept informed via email from the office, which again, was always responsive.  We would highly recommend Rotten Rock for any hardscaping and/or tree work (they removed a few trees for us a few years ago too) and would use them again without hesitation. <br />"

"I was a little hesitant ordering stone veneer for my kitchen through the internet.  Mark at Stoneyard was excellent, sent me samples and help me decide which stone to use. Due to cabinet specifications and width restictions in my kitchen, we spent several weeks back and forth on options and dealers to get me thin stone.  Mark was very patient and professional the entire time. He  ordered all my stone through a 3rd party.  The actual stone took over 5 weeks from delivery, but I was kept in the loop the entire time.  It was delivered right to my door. This is not a simple process of running to the store to grab stone, and definitely worth the wait. I used a mixture of Boston Blend and Colonial Tan, both ledger and ashlar. <br />"

"We replaced our existing clapboard siding with Alside Harbour Blue siding with vinyl trim corners and kept our existing deck and porch frame but replaced the boards and railings with trek and composite railings. AJ Wood and his team were extremely professional and hardworking. We couldn't be happier with the quality of their work and have received a large number of compliments on our home. We would highly recommend AJ Wood and his team for your next project."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Kittery Point, ME

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
