"In November of 2016, Mr. Prouty responded quickly to my request for a quote. I analyzed the top of the chimney and agreed that a concrete chimney cap needed to be poured to fix the poor job that the builder's mason ad done five years earlier. However he said it was too cold to do concrete work and that he would do it in the spring. He returned in the spring to review the condition of the top of the chimney and we scheduled a date of service. The crew that did the work was right on time, explained what they were doing, were neat and professional in their installation and the removal of the form once the concrete was cured. I've delayed writing a review until almost a year had passed to make sure that their work resolved the problem. I can safely say that the diagnosis was spot on and the new chimney cap has eliminated the leak. I will certainly use Prouty's again for all my chimney work."

"These folks were great! Super fast. Excellent price! (I did have an Angie's list coupon which provided a great discount.) I noticed that my chimney cap had been blown off recently, not sure how long it had been like that. Priddy Chimney had a crew in my area and could do the install SAME DAY! The team was quick, professional, and cleaned up after themselves (unlike some contractors). Quick and easy job for them. Great price for me. I would certainly hire them again!"

"Absolutely wonderful. Melvin confirmed the chimneys were in fine shape despite another company's $8K inspection/repair report which seemed suspicious from the beginning. Melvin is the only one I trust. We are so lucky to have him servicing the Metro area. New customer's: don't worry if it takes a day to get a return call for an appt. Wait as it's well worth it. Can't recommend him enough. He's a godsend."

"I was briefed on the condition of the chimney cap and got an explanation as to how the problem could have happened. Jerry even gave me some hints on maintaining the exterior brick and how important it really is to take care of it - details I've never even thought of. Our conversation after the work was done I consider to be very valuable."

"Tom replaced an old metal roof with a standing seam copper roof on our home addition. We really enjoyed working with him and Lyon's. They do absolutely beautiful work (I will try to add a photo this week). More generally, Tom is patient and happy to answer client questions and I had a lot of questions. He also is incredibly prompt in responding to his clients (including late in the afternoon and on weekends). We plan to work with him on smaller projects in the future."

"<strong>*** UPDATE:<br /> <br /> <br /> </strong>Apparently none of my emails or voicemails were received. Steven arrived at my door this morning around 8AM after seeing my review on Angie's List and getting my address from it, apologizing profusely for the issue. He did a walk through with a thermal imaging camera to find and record the water damage and diagnosed the problem as an improperly installed ridge vent, provided a written report and the video, and had a work crew onsite within an hour or so of me signing the paperwork. <br /> <br /> The crew worked quickly on a miserable rainy day to get the job done and were finished within an hour and half. <br /> <br /> Overall, the experience went from terrible to great. When it's time to replace the roof, I'll definitely give them a call first. <br /> <br /> ------ <br /> <br /> I came home to a wet ceiling in a bathroom after a recent heavy storm. I left a message with Roofer911 in the hopes of a quick callback in the morning, as well as submitting a request through their online form. I ended up calling them back mid morning and speaking to Steven, who  asked me to send an email with my address, and he would be out himself between 7am and noon the next day, which I did immediately after hanging up, about 9:30. <br /> I did not receive a response to the email, and my phone call to confirm the appointment the next day went unanswered. No contact, did not show up. I still have a serious leak in my roof and the lost day and a half means all the other roofers in the area are booked up with damage from the storm. <br /> Extremely unprofessional to make an appointment and not meet it or even warn that you won't make it. I now expect to have even more damage as a direct result of this no show. <br />"

"Lewis and his crew did a fabulous job from start to finish. I have had horrible experiences with contractors in the past, overcharging for terrible work and making the situation worse, but Lewis was honest and reliable. He responded quickly to my call even during the busy season. He gave me an honest and fair estimate, and then continued to answer tons of questions that I had over the following months while I was getting other quotes and trying to make a decision. Lewis was patient and responsive, and after many months I decided to take the plunge. Lewis did everything above-board, getting the permits and approval from the historic district. His crew worked diligently through snow and freezing temperatures to completely replace my leaking roof and did a superb job paying attention to every tiny detail. Lewis communicated with me daily about everything they were doing. I have never had a contractor be so accommodating and communicative. I was so impressed with his crew that I ended up adding on more extras to the job and had him repair and refinish a roof on a second property I own. My roof looks spectacular now - much better than the old slate I had to replace. It was a complicated job which involved the replacement of a lot of rotten wood, old insulation, mansard roof sides and a flat roof with multiple old skylights. I would recommend him without any reservations to any of my friends and will use him for any roofing issue I ever have in the future."

"My 30 year old home was built with a wood burning fireplace.   The chimney has a terrible downdraft and we were rarely successful with burning wood in this fireplace.  The smoke would never go up the chimney, always back into the house.  Several years ago we converted the fireplace to a gas fireplace enclosure, vented through the chimney.  This worked well the first two winters.   The third winter was very cold, and I believe the drafting problem was causing the gas not to rise out of the chimney, and thereby setting off our CO2 alarms.   We tried several things, but CO2 is just too dangerous to continue use of the gas fireplace. <br />  I researched this problem extensively, and decided to turn the fireplace back into a wood burning fireplace.  I am prepared to sufficiently warm up the chimney before starting a fire, while cracking a window and turning off the heat in the house to promote the best airflow / draft for the fire.   <br /> I had the gas fireplace removed, and the gas line capped off and removed from the fireplace.  I called several chimney companies to come out to give me an estimate on removing the gas liner still inside the chimney, and replacing the cap on top of the chimney with a damper cap. <br /> I am so glad I called Canterbury Sweeps.  Joe arrived on time, took his shoes off before he came into my house, talked to me to understand my desires for a wood burning fireplace.  He removed the liner <strong><em>at no charge</em></strong>.  It took him 5 minutes.  He told me the <strong><em>damper was still in the chimney</em></strong>, and all I needed was a handle.  He had a used one in the truck.  <strong><em>No charge</em></strong>.  He replaced the chimney cap with a "stainless steel" cap in about 30 minutes.  Total charge, less than $200.   <br /> He then thoughtfully gave me an education about how to build a successful fire - get the right wood, to start.  He confirmed everything I had read about air flow for a good draft.  He was so friendly, knowledgeable, conscientious, polite and a pleasure to work with!  My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful wood fire that evening!   <br /> This was a great way to start the weekend, especially after feeling berated and insulted by another chimney company (MCP) who came out to give me an over-inflated unrealistic estimate.   <br /> Canterbury Sweeps is honest and trustworthy.  It is so refreshing to find that there are still companies out there that have OUTSTANDING ethics!   <br /> <br /> <br />"
