Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. "It went great, it was a messy job because it involved removing the old, nasty insulation, but the guys did their best containing the mess. The attic is very difficult to work in due to the low ceiling and they did a great job, no cracks in the ceiling or anything. I also ended up with a "super deck" which is a platform with foam underneath giving me some more storage space that I desperately needed. I can see now that my neighbors house has icicles (which can signal an impending ice dam), and I have none. I gave a B for price because this is an expensive job, I don't believe you can get it for significantly cheaper, but the quality of the job, comfort, and properly functioning attic space are definitely worth it."

It also needed Freon which was extremely expensive (about $800) because they don't manufacture this particular type any longer. But I was told it should help my unit to last another 2-3 years before it needs to be replaced and the cost could be applied toward a new A/C unit."
