"Ryan did a fantastic job roughing in my post frame building for a bathroom and running a gas line extension from my house. The project had a small window to get the work done, making scheduling a plumber difficult. Citywide arrived on time and provided a professional service and product, rolling with changes that popped up during the build. I will definitely call on Citywide to finish the plumbing in the shop next year and to help with any other future work in our house! I will recommend them to my friends in the area!"

"I called Dave at 7:31am because my sump pump was making a very loud noise. We determined over the phone that the pump probably needed to be replaced. Dave was able to come out to my house with a new pump at a determined time in the afternoon. He reviewed the situation and determined that my old pump could probably keep working, but should probably be replaced soon anyway because it was old and corroded. I went ahead and had him replace it, which I was glad for. He had to fashion a pipe fitting and cut some pipe to make the new one fit. The new one is also of material that should not corrode and has much more power. He was quick in his work and pleasant through the process. He explained what he was doing and how I could do it again if necessary. When he was done, he asked if there was anything else I wanted him to look at before he left. After he left, he called back because he thought he had left a piece of Styrofoam from the new pump's box on the floor and wanted to make sure no one tripped on it. Very conscientious. Price was VERY reasonable. Will definitely refer and use him again. <br />"

"My leasing agent called to tell me my tenants had a major backup in the basement.  She had Roto-Rooter out to clean out the sewer line.  Then the Roto-Rooter guy put a camera through and said we needed replace part of the pipe, which he would be happy to do by digging 10 feet down into our yard for an arm and a leg.  Feeling more than slightly panicked, I nevertheless decided to call around.  When I talked to Dan at Blaylock Plumbing, first he quoted me a price for the service roughly a third of what Roto-Rooter charges.  Then, he brought his own camera out to the property and moments later called to inform me that he didn't think the repair was even necessary.  I'm so thankful to have learned my lesson the easy way, and for any future plumbing issues, I will call Blaylock Plumbing. <br />"

"I had an old water heater (was in the house when I moved in about 20 years ago) and it started to leak. After shutting off the water to the water heater, I did a little Angie's List research to find a company to do the replacement. I called a couple and decided to use Randy Lane, based on cost and my interaction with them, which I felt was cordial and helpful, and made an appointment. <br /> The service person arrived on time on the day of the appointment and went to work. He disconnected the old heater and hauled it out. The new heater was brought in and he did the needed plumbing work to connect the water and also made the natural gas connections. He fired up the unit and briefed me on the new unit - how to turn-off the water and gas, if needed, temperature, etc. <br /> The area was left in the same condition as when he arrived. <br />"

"I called Dana because i had a gas leak in my dryer. His assistant told me he was booked out for a few weeks, but still managed to squeeze me in since she felt bad that I couldn't do laundry! He found the leak and fixed a pipe that wasn't up to regulation, and did it all in less than an hour. He was great. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Lakeland, MN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
