"For anyone looking for either a pool or service for your pool, I would highly recommend Aqua Shoppe. My wife and I had heard all the horror stories about having a pool installed. Nick does an amazing job communicating with you through the project and will do his best to put most of that stress at ease. He does a good job organizing all the different crews and the chaos so you as the homeowner feel little impact. They take pride in the project and give it the respect as if they were working at their own home. They even have an amazing way of making the concrete reveal look classy. Time line of project The pool shell was ordered in mid August. After a couple week the shell arrived, the hole was dug and pool was set on September 4 with water being added the same day. Nick and his crew showed up again the next day to have all equipment hooked up and running. It was then communicated that they would let the disturbed ground around the pool to settle for minimum of 7-10 days before they"

"Technician stated hot water heater needed to be total replaced due to normal wear and tear. Hot water heater is initially the hot water heater installed in 1999 when home was built. Choice Home Warranty denied the claim after several years of being a loyal customer, making payments on- time every month. What is the use of having this warranty for times as this and when you need them, they denied the claim? Although the service was good, response time adequate, providing the services needed when your appliance break down and being denied repairs was disappointing and devastating, especially when coronavirus is rampant and you really need your hot water to wash clothes, dishes, bath, shower, and remain sanitary. I am so heart broken because I live on a fixed income and am disable, and can’t afford to purchase a hot water heater at this time. They determined that the water heater was not operating properly as a result of a lack of effective maintenance of the unit. What a crock!"

"Jim Miller provided us with outstanding service in every way. I can't tell you how pleased we are with the excelptional job he did for us. We hired him to replace a pool liner that had deep wrinkles from the time it was installed several years ago. We now have an absolutely beautiful pool without a single wrinkle. Seriously, it looks better now than when the pool was brand new. In addition, he is the nicest man you would ever want to work with, a true perfectionist. He was very punctual (showed up on time every time) and his price was half what we were quoted by the company who installed our pool originally. He is FANTASTIC!!!!"

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Of several firms contacted for an estimate, owner Ron Diersing was the only one who gave me a firm estimate, as well as a detailed explanation of what he would do.  he gave me a courtesy call the night before the job and 30 minutes before arriving.  Despite 98 degree heat and a job site that required hauling in buckets of cement by hand, Ron and his brother finished in 1 day, with a few touch-ups the following morning.

I am over-the-moon happy with the porch pad replacement.  It looks great, drains water away from the house, and evens out what was a jarring step from the house and to the back steps.  And they did minimal damage to the surrounding garden.

I was slightly less happy with the low retaining wall across the front of the property, mostly because it was poured on top of  the sidewalk rather than the yard, as I'd requested.  And also because it did not have permanent drainage holes built in. (When he stopped by the following morning, Ron drilled several holes at the base of the wall for drainage.)  To be fair, we did not discuss the wall in as much detail, and I did not come out and check the forms as they were setting them up, which could have headed off the problem.

When Ron gave me the estimate, we discussed the broken curb and he eplained the difference between patching and replacing the curb, and I said I would probably have it patched at a later date.  Altho' it was not part of the original estimate, at the end of the day he patched the worst spots at no extra charge.

Overall, I was happy with the job, the price and the overall experience."

FAQs for swimming pool heaters installation and replacement projects in Lancaster, OH

Yes, you can add a heater to an existing pool. A pro can retrofit a heater to nearly any in-ground or above-ground pool. Adding a heater allows you to start the swim season earlier, finish it later, and maintain a steady water temperature in between. Many owners schedule the job during a larger pool upgrade, but it also works as a standalone project. Professional installation ties the new unit into the existing pump and plumbing for safe, efficient operation.

Most owners switch the heater on a day or two before they plan to swim, then shut it down afterward. Reaching the target temperature can take 24 to 72 hours, depending on pool size and outdoor conditions. Using a cover while the heater is off helps hold the heat and keeps energy costs in check.

Pool heaters can freeze if left exposed to extreme conditions. Freezing can damage internal heater components, potentially leading to costly pool repairs. Cycling water, covering the heater, and regular maintenance help prevent freezing. Sealing or winterizing your heater also protects it during the season—this involves draining water from the heater and its components.

Pool heaters operate with lifespans spanning from seven to 30 years. Gas and propane models last seven to 12 years, while electric and solar heaters perform efficiently for up to 30 years. Consistent professional maintenance and routine inspections extend the heater’s life and improve its performance, ensuring a safe and reliable heating system for your pool.

Before hiring a pool heater installation contractor, conduct thorough research by reviewing online feedback and gathering recommendations from trusted sources. Contact multiple professionals to discuss pricing, request references, and understand the complete installation process. This careful evaluation ensures you select a qualified contractor who delivers high-quality service and a successful installation.
