Small jobs welcome

"They were prompt to respond to the quote request and showed up the next day. Which was good because my kitchen faucet was leaking as was the cold water shutoff valve. That promptness was the main reason I went with them. The guy that showed up, Will, seemed knowledgeable and was polite. My issue is that he showed up as a professional with basic tools to change the faucet in a kitchen sink. I have better tools than I saw him using. One example is that he was tightening the nut on the bottom of the new faucet that secured it to the sink with channel locks instead of a dedicated faucet installation/removal tool. The other issue I had was the lack of parts in the rather nice new panel van he showed up in. Maybe that's a new thing in the industry but I would have expected a few basic parts to be stocked on the truck. To be clear I didn't have a bad experience, it just wasn't a very good one. They did the job but if I had to do it over again I would have gone with someone else."

"I have had a home warranty plan with ABMay for several years and always get great service. Today Joshua White did my annual plumbing inspection and when I mentioned I'd be getting new toilets soon he let me know of the wonderful credit I had and the next thing I knew...he installed my 2 new toilets in record time today at a great price. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all my questions( tolerated my puppy)as well as gave me information. Once again I'm very satisfied with this company and their technicians."

"Willis, from Lutz came to the house and gave me a quote to hook up three faucets and raise one of the waste lines which was too low on the cabinet. He stated that it would take three hours to do the whole job and that Lutz management wanted to charge me 1,000+ for the whole thing. 3 hours worth of work at more that 325.00 and hour. And I’m a member on their loyalty to boot which was 100.00. And that price was with a %15 discount."

"Randy did an amazing job getting our new water heater installed! He did it quickly and professionally. Then when we had an issue with water in our basement the next day, he came right out, confirmed it had nothing to do with the new water heater, then tracked down what the true issue was (which 2 other plumbers missed) and snaked out the pipe in our basement. Again he was quick and professional, but once he was done, he took the time to talk to us about options for fixing our p-trap in the basement floor. I will definitely use Randy in the future, and recommend him without hesitation."

"I have had their maintenance service under another company that got bought by Bob Hamilton. This is the 1st year my maintenance contract was paid without warranties. That was a hassle to call and get an appointment in itself. They would only give me a Sat in late Oct. So I waited at my house for the 4-hours I was told to be available. No one showed up; no one called. Then, I tried to rebook but it was going to be after Thanksgiving. So I didn't book the appointment. Tim, texted as he noticed my appointment was not booked. Fine, I booked it but again- 2-weeks out from when I did the online appointment. It was to be on Fri, Dec 26. Again, I wait at my house from 2pm-6pm. NO ONE SHOWED UP OR CALLED! They sure want to take my $30 monthly maintenance fee - BUT THEY SURE REFUSE TO PROVIDE MAINTENANCE SERVICE TO SOMEONE WHO'S HAD THE SERVICE FOR 12+ YEARS!!! Be careful to select Bob Hamilton as they will charge high pricing; talk you into a service contract-they do not honor!!! "

"Eric & his team are the BEST. 20 years ago while on a historic homes tour in Liberty the owner raved about one company of the 5 who’d inspected the problems in her oddly “ruin-ovated” home, & how it was the only one to figure out how to properly heat & insulate it. She raved about them. When asked who it was she said Kjelshus Energy, whom my GC had already recommended after working with them on many home improvements. All these years they’ve maintained my historic home too, & including improving the efficiency of a unit that was twice too big for the house & correcting flue & carbon monoxide issues. Eric is mechanically gifted & devoted to his craft. He teaches this trade all over the country & his entire team is knowledgeable & reliable. Kjelshus Energy cannot be beat!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Lexington, MO

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
