"Hal's work is top-notch but I grew increasingly frustrated with the timing and inconsistency of his work habits. His was one of several estimates I received and basically he said he would beat any estimate I received. The difference is that everyone else was going to use cedar and he only works with pressure-treated Southern yellow pine, which is less than half the cost of cedar. I was unsure of the durability and longevity of that product so I did extensive research online. Still unsure, I drive around the Twin Cities to see other jobs Hal did that gave stood the test of time and I decided to move forward. Clearly, the way he builds his fences require considerably more manual labor than those built with cedar posts and pickets so essentially instead of paying for the higher cost of cedar, you pay for increased labor costs. Unfortunately, Hal isn't as going as predicting when he will get jobs complete as he is completing them well. He was over a month late in getting started and I repeatedly had to call him to inquire about the delay. It was quite frustrating but since I didn't absolutely need the fence done by a certain date, I decided to practice patience. Once he finally started, most days he and his helper only worked 4 hours so the project dragged on far longer than I thought it would. Admittedly, there were a couple of weather-related days but other times when it was a perfect day, they wouldn't show up and I would give no idea when they were coming again. After I told him I really needed to have him be more communicative, he was and within a short time after that conversation, he completed the fence. The fence is beautiful and appears very sturdy. We'll see how it withstands time and weather but for now I am very happy with it. Hal does beautiful work but if you are on a strict timeline I would not recommend working with him. If you are flexible and don't mind putting more effort into communication, he is a great person to work with.

"Greene Construction Inc was amazing. The best contractor I have ever had and will use them again for sure.
First they installed the egress window for us and the next day came back to build a pine wall and door so our middle child could have his own bedroom.
It took two full days and it was worth it. Both mornings they showed up at 8 AM and worked until it was done. They cleaned up well after the work was done as well.
The company is great and I recommend them to all.
TJ and Gary do great work and are really nice guys and they know what they are doing.
Demian, who is the owner - is the kind of contractor you want - A great one.
He was on vacation when I first contact him and he got back to me right away to set up a meeting. A contractor that actually wants business - finally!

"This was the second time I worked with Greg. It had gone so well the first time that I called him when I wanted a 14 x 20 building put on the back of my lot. He impressed me again with his creative solutions to some of the problems I was having, both with build and placement. He stayed in my budget and got it done in a reasonable amount of time. "I bought an Angie's List deal on 4/20/2016. Dmitri called on 4/29/2016 to set up a time. He came on 5/4/2016 but didn't have the equipment to go up on the roof or measure windows. He said he was going on vacation and could he get back to me after 5/16-I told him that was fine. He didn't contact me after the 16th so I called him on 6/6/2016. He said he could stop on Wednesday 6/8/2016 to measure windows. No call, no show. On 6/14/2016, I got a text at 8:00 p.m. asking when he could stop over to measure windows. We set up for 5:00 p.m. the next day. At 5:05 the next day, he called saying that it was his anniversary and he couldn't show up. I asked him when he could stop by to look at the roof and he said he would stop by before the end of the week. He asked if I had a sample piece of siding that he could take. I put out the siding which was still there one week later. On 6/22/2016, I sent him a text and he said that he would still have to order windows that would take at least 3 weeks and the soonest he could start my project was some time in August. I contacted Angie's List to see if I could get a refund which they said I couldn't since it was over 30 days. I sent Dmitri a text on 6/30/2016 saying that Angie's List wouldn't refund my money and that I would still need his services. As of today, August 16, 2016, I have received no response. UPDATE: The contractor said that he never received my 6/30/2016 text which is why he never contacted me."
