"Service tech was very punctual, polite, and knowledgeable. Had to order part. Which I expected. Will come back to finish repair on e part arrives. Have had Home Warranty for many years and they have never disappointed me with their prompt service and fairness when it came to any repairs or replacements I may have needed. I give the company a 10 on all aspects of their policies for items covered. Highly recommend them."

"Originally contacted Sam and Sons Services from ad in yellow pages to fix bath tub faucet mechanism that did not allow water to fully come out of faucent, only shower head.  S&S tech said I had to replace the whole faucet and he could not replace just the mechanism.  Hhhmm.  (Ding). The color I had was bronze; he only had chrome.  Hhhhmmm.   (Ding).   S&S charged $302 for just the bath tub faucet part.  Hhhhmmm.   (Ding).  Online research afterward revealed that full bath tub faucet, handles, and shower heads run between $100-$467.  The model S&S sold me was towards the lower end $150, which was fine but I would have liked to be charged that without mark up and pay for the straight labor.  Moreoever, S&S only gave me the tub faucet when the price suggested I paid for shower head and handle too.  Hhhmmm. (Ding).   Tech was very courteous and professional: he identified an out of code bath tub pipe that was plastic that should have been copper.  He replaced and cut me a break with half-price labor, which I liked but kind of confused me with I got jipped on the tub faucet part.  He gave me very clear explanations of how to monitor plumbing pipes for tub that are plastic (hot and cold water from main copper pipe that he replaced).  His tightening of the kitchen sink faucet was flawless.  Bottom-line: didn't like the mark up on parts that corporate office forced on tech (he presented a notebook with corp office's prices).  Unlikely that I will use again, which disappointed me because S&S seems to do various work (electrical, plumbing, handyman work, etc) and I was hoping to find a one-stop shop for my home maintenance needs."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"With a name like power wash pros, it kind of throws off the other services they offer, but they did an excellent job and I was very happy with the work they provided. I will definitely be using them again for any future services! I highly recommend them! Great work and great customer service!"

"The owner, Val Pires, came to our house within a day or two of my call. Great first impression! Helped us develop our rehab concept and gave us a contract estimate. After several weeks of considering the work to be done, we asked Val to return and firm-up the design to include a driveway extension and a new walkway. Finalized contract on August 30 and started work on September 25. Completed all work, including tile work, on October 3. On all area of lawn that were disturbed during the process, fill dirt and top soil were added where needed and reseeded. On October 5 we received a surprise bonus of ten Chrysanthemums and two Azaleas which Val's crew planted where I requested. Val was on site virtually throughout each work day and personally did a lot of the concrete finishing. His work crew was very industrious. They were clearly very experienced and knew exactly what had to be done at each step in the process."

FAQs for swimming pool or accessories repair or service projects in Marbury, MD

A well-maintained, correctly sized pump lasts eight to 12 years. Help it reach the upper end of that range by cleaning the strainer basket, monitoring for unusual sounds, and verifying that the pump’s flow rate matches the filter's specifications. Address leaks or pressure dips quickly—minor fixes now cost far less than a premature replacement later.

Listen for grinding or screeching, watch for breaker trips, and keep an eye on sudden spikes in your electric bill—any one of these signals the pump needs attention. If repairs continue to accumulate or the unit is older than eight years, replacement often makes more financial sense. Contact a qualified pool repair professional immediately to diagnose the issue and prevent further damage to the filter or plumbing.

It’s best to keep your pool pump on while swimming. Keeping the pump on while you swim allows the filter and skimmers to catch debris in real-time, maintaining water features flowing. It’s not mandatory, but weaving swim time into your regular eight-to-12-hour schedule helps maintain crystal-clear water and consistent chemical levels without extra effort.

Start by shutting off the power at the breaker and verifying with a voltage meter. Close the water valves, bleed pressure, and unbolt the old pump. Wire the new unit according to the manufacturer's diagram, glue in the PVC unions, prime the housing, and tighten everything securely. Open the valves, flip the breaker, and watch for steady water flow and quiet operation. If any step feels beyond your expertise, consider hiring a licensed electrician or pool technician.
