"AC Septic services are fantastic! I have a 70 year old septic tank with concrete drain lines. This is a rental property and I didnt want to spend a lot of money. "Had leak from septic tank area. Rays responded very quickly (out that day) and were courteous and knowledgeable and for that I would rate them very high. I also would rate them as very expensive. Turns out the issue was not the tank but the PVC septic line broke coming from the house to the tank. Tank looked great and had been pumped less than 2 years ago which was why I was surprised to see the leak. No tank pumping or drain line cleaning involved but as it was a 30 year old tank, they did recommend also replacing the old degrading (but still functioning for now) cement baffles in and out. These are replaced with about $85 PVC fittings retail, $100 to be generous for having them right there. I grew up doing minor plumbing and have done my own repairs on broken outdoor PVC water lines at this very house. Literally digging them up by hand and repairing so I know the work involved and understand the dirty part of septic work. My estimate was the additional pipe and fitting to be replaced was about $100 dollars too so $300 cost in actual materials. Two men were there for 2 hours finding and fixing the issue. I also understand overhead so $150 per hour per man for $600 plus the small backhoe for $300 per hour or another $600. That put me thinking around $1600 so anything less than $2000, I would have thought reasonable given the speed and knowledgeable work. The actual cost was nearly $2500. Its not like once they are out there with the hole opened up to find the issue that you have a lot of options to not get the work done. When I commented I thought that was really high, it was implied that was what anyone would charge. I could have not done the two baffles but to have them done separately due to man power and getting someone out, it would have then cost the same even if the actual baffle price was less because you have to someone out to do it alone. In the end, while I give Rays high marks for timeliness, skill, and knowledge, I felt I paid over and above for the service. Sometimes you have to do that to get something done when as in this case I did not know what the issue was to price it in advance, but it did make me feel the price was excessively high because once they had to dig up the tank to assess the problem, then I was a forced to pay whatever they estimated. Would call them in a emergency but I do not think I would make them my regular service without seriously vetting price."

"We had some issues with our septic system after we moved into our house. We dealt with one company that unprofessionally estimated the cost of repairing/replacing our system. We sought a second opinion from Pumpco. They precisely estimated the cost of the installation and did not exceed their quote. They set a schedule and completed the work as they said they would. They are well organized and have a great staff. From Steve, the owner, who has a vision to support the local community, Joe with a massive 6-6 frame who has delicate machinery skills, and Amanda who coordinated it all with her bubbly personality. Pumpco exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend them. Sean and Paula of Duluth"

"On a very hot, uncomfortable day, when our septic system was backing up into every drain in our home, I sought out Angi and hired A Bailey. After my initial conversation with the lovely Andrea, Chad, and company came out and replaced the main line correctly (it was previously installed incorrectly) They were kind, professional, and fixed and checked everything for a very fair price. We will hire them again!"

"Communication - Excellent! Matthew was prompt and courteous in staying in touch regarding appointment time and arrival time. Price - Competitive and transparent. I asked for an "on the rim out the door" price with no last minute pitches for things that should be part of the service. Price was as quoted to pump, clean filter and inspect. I did opt for a bacterial additive that I was NOT pressured into purchasing. I just figured if it made any difference in keeping the drain field from having issues it was well worth it. Included three-year monthly additive supply. Quality of Work - extra careful to check for water line into the house, thorough in the pump out and carefully replaced the dirt and raked the area. Of course, I will need sod but that just goes with having a septic system pumped regardless of who does it. Friendliness - everyone in the crew was friendly and courteous, like they were your neighbor."

"Our septic system was a disaster and needed extensive work. The company we had been working with, and really liked, had a technical problem and couldn't make it out to our house. Bowen Septic was able to fit us in early on a Sunday morning to finish pumping our system. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Very helpful."

"Did a great job. Well, I mean, they did a great job. I definitely was not completely, you know, like I said. It's working, the water's back on, the meters. I mean, I had a very bad leak on the system, and so they needed to To replace the entire water line from the shutoff. at the city all the way to the house and they were they they had to cut a trench to bury it and they were here there was three guys and they were here about Maybe two and a half, 3 h working, and they got it all done. So, I mean, as far as I'm concerned, the war's back on. Everything's working. I can't complain. And they did it for the price that they did, because they, you know, they did, there was no price change or anything like that. So they did exactly what they estimated to be."

FAQs for septic system repair projects in Marietta, GA

Leach field failure can often occur due to a lack of proper maintenance, hydraulic overload, or environmental factors. When too much water enters the septic system—like running multiple large laundry loads back-to-back—it can overwhelm the leach field. Regular professional inspections, ongoing maintenance, and spacing out high-water-use activities help prevent failure.

A septic tank shows repair needs when noticeable symptoms arise around your home. Noticeable signs include strong sewage odors at fixtures, recurring pipe blockages, pooling water or damp patches near the leach field, and areas of unusually bright green or spongy grass. These indicators confirm that deteriorating components or clogs exist. Monitoring such signs and scheduling timely professional inspections prevents further costly damage.

Adhering to a strict, scheduled maintenance plan prevents septic system repairs. An annual inspection and a pump-out every three to five years safeguard your system’s performance. Additionally, only flushing waste and toilet paper, installing drain filters, keeping nonapproved items out of the system, and avoiding excessive water use help maintain your septic system’s health and efficiency.
