"I could not recommend Brian more highly as someone who understands the many complex ways a house is put together and how to address just about anything that can go wrong. He proved himself to be creative, honest, communicative and highly professional. From first contact, Brian was easy to get hold of, adaptable and timely. Once we made our appointment he walked through the house and investigated each of these unique issues, carefully assessed it, presented his diagnosis for each and patiently presented several possible approaches. His price was very reasonable, considering all the costs associated with his top credentialing, and over the next few days Brian solved each of these unique problems just as he said he would. One of his strengths, I should add, is proactive communication. He cautioned us ahead of time that with an older house, it's not unusual to open up a wall or disassemble a window frame and find that more, or other, things, need to be fixed than originally believed and said that if this were to happen he would send us pictures of the issue, estimate additional cost, and ask whether we want to have him proceed. This is exactly what he did, and in several cases, we did opt for the suggested adjustment, in part because we knew exactly what he was going to do and why and how much it would cost. In the end, Brian and his assistant, Terry, handled everything beautifully and left the place looking cleaner and neater than when they had arrived. Overall, it was an excellent experience working with Brian!"

"We got an estimate from the owner as well as from 4 other companies on our living room and dining room(650 square feet). We also got an estimate on our finished 2 car garage.   We chose Goode Design because he had excellent references and a team approach where he brought a crew (about 5 painters) to complete the job as quickly and efficiently as possible.  Goode's price was not the highest or lowest of the estimates.  He was professional and courteous and delivered exactly as he promised.  He left us color samples and we finalized on color choice the night before the crew came and they picked up everything needed at Sherwin Williams.
The crew came promptly, repaired walls, cracks, etc.  and painted walls, ceilings and molding.  We have dental tooth molding and wainscot so much attention to detail was necessary.  The crew was courteous, pleasant and thorough. Their experience was evident and the finished project was very precise, neat, clean and professional.  It exceeded our expectations.  The after job clean up was equally impressive.  No dust, trash or remnants of any kind were left behind.  The whole living room/dining room job was completed in one day.
We were so pleased with their work we had them return and paint our interior garage which needed much repair work to the drywall.  Again they did a beautiful and professional job.
We have experience with painting, having painted the rest of the house ourselves and we were hesitant to spent the money.  But when the jobs were competed, we were so pleased; we felt it was definitely worth it and we would not hesitate to use them again.

"Jim responded promptly to my order placed on Angie's List for the Remote Computer Tune Up & Repair Deal.  He cleaned up the computer remotely, which was running very slowly, and required frequent re-boots.  Computer is running much faster now.  Great service.  Would highly recommend.

"My husband and I have been using Keenwick for the past 11 years. They have done power washing of our house, driveway, cellar way, walkway and deck. They also have performed window cleaning services. Words cannot begin to express how pleased we have been with their services over the 11 years we have used them. Not only are their people extremely professional and perform a very thorough job, but they explain everything that they do and are very friendly and congenial. We have been very happy with their services over the years and highly recommend them to anyone needing such services. Honestly, when they have completed their work, our driveway, deck and cement look brand new. You will be very happy with their work."

"Kargmans provided a handyman, Alex and his helper, Gerson, to install a storm door, hang kitchen cabinets and replace a mailbox. They did outstanding work and I am extremely pleased with the results. Alex and his helper, Gerson, worked in 95 degree heat to remove my old storm door and frame; repair the entryway; and install a brand new frame and double-paned Pella storm door. This downstairs doorway has always been very difficult to work as it is stucco and uneven. Alex conquered each challenge he encountered. He and Gerson created a professional, precise result with which I am extremely pleased. Both men took extra time with the fine details. After installing the downstairs storm door, they hung my kitchen cabinets, replaced my mailbox and painted the mailbox post. Excellent, excellent, excellent work and a great attitude!!! Alex advised me on the challenges that they will face and the time it will take next week when they will work on the front door. I look forward to having them work on the front entranceway next week."

"I couldn't be more pleased!  The workers had to remove some of the doors to clean each side and remove all the gunk that had collected there for awhile.   I really appreciate the care they took when removing and reinstalling the doors. They exceeded my expectations with the wonderful job they did because those glass doors were really filthy.  I am extremely pleased with their work and would definitely hire them again.

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Maryland-Line, MD

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
